Job Title: Manager, Broadcast Sales and Services (China Mainland - South) Job Code #: TBA Summary Description
This role will focus on the successful promotion of Dolby products and technologies to IPTV and digital television operators and related customers in South China mainland. Operating at both a technical and commercial level as part of a team of multi-skilled individuals, success will be reflected in product sales, broadcast services on air with Dolby technologies, and the use of the Dolby brand on TV services. The role is also requires to provide systems support to Dolbys broadcast customers to enable them to get on the air with Dolby audio technologies, and stay on air. Ensure operators enjoy error free carriage of Dolby technologies across the entire program chain from ingest to multiplex. Territories covered include South China mainland. Essential Job Functions Oversee the commercial relationship with Dolby technology and products users on broadcast in South China Mainland and provide necessary support to those clients. Meet broadcast product sales target assigned by management:
Promote Dolby products and technologies to IPTV operators, Telcos, cable, terrestrial and satellite operators and key system providers. Convince IPTV operators, Telcos, cable companies, broadcasters in a defined target group to use Dolby technologies and products. Manage the relationship between Dolby and IPTV / Telco / digital TV operators in the defined target group and encourage them to market their use of Dolby technology Provide customer and market input to management to highlight product requirements, opportunities, and potential roadblocks systems issues STB opportunities training requirements Monitor competitor activities and report to management. Under direction, maintain regular contact with broadcast groups and affiliated bodies in the defined target group, participating in technical and/or commercial aspects of their work as needed. Present Dolby and Dolby technologies to the industry, media and establish presence at industry events. Provide basic systems support to Dolbys broadcast customers: support HD and SD delivery via cable, satellite, terrestrial and IP in the use of Dolby Digital; Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby E technologies. Provide basic systems support for SIs in these same applications. Interface with operators and SIs on pre-sales discussions and issues of systems design, consultancy and final system implementation. Where necessary liaise also with system OEMs. Bring resulting information in house and share appropriately. Generate technical proposals to meet specific customer requirements and liaise between sales and marketing for major contracts, providing information on timescales, quantities, importance. Provide systems training pertaining to Dolby technologies internally an externally. Maintain contact with broadcasters and broadcast groups keeping an accurate picture of customers, their needs and requirements. Identify system issues and raise with management. Assist in the identification of potential new broadcaster customers. Give input into the setting of broadcast priorities within the marketing department.
Other Responsibilities Provide relevant resources to other members of the group on their tasks as appropriate. Liaise with other Dolby Laboratories offices where necessary. Attend and contribute to relevant internal meetings Assist in tradeshows and events through planning and attendance as needed. Perform other ad hoc duties as required by management.
Education, Skills, Abilities, and Experience Required A thorough knowledge of digital TV broadcast systems end to end from ingest to home receiver, resulting from proven industry experience. Understanding of technologies used and drivers and technology trends in broadcasting and content delivery. Bachelor Degree or equivalent in Science, Electronic Engineering, Audio Technology, Computer Science or Information Technology. 5+ years of relevant sales experience with two or more years of field sales management experience. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential; written and verbal interactions with customers singly and in groups are a major part of the job. Demonstrably excellent selling skills, time management, communications, decision making, interpersonal skills, presentation and organization skills. Professional appearance and presentation required. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills both in English and Chinese, ability to work independently and in a team environment. Have the ability to work without direct supervision, to priorities work and to work to deadlines International travel and work experience desirable.
Note: This position requires regular overseas travel and work outside normal hours

Summary Description Reporting to Senior Manager, Product Marketing in Dolby Japan K.K., Marketing Manager, CE, will be responsible for planning and executing product marketing activities in the region for the CE Marketing Segment. Working closely with Global CE Marketing and regional Sales and Engineering Support teams, Marketing Manager, CE, is responsible for introducing and communicating Dolby technolgy products and licensing programs related to the Segment to existing and potential customers in the region, gathering market feedbacks and requirements, seeking opprotunities, and working towards successful productization and adoption by manufacturers of Dolby technology products with an end goal of growing the regional CE Segment revenue. Marketing Managner, CE, is also responsible for leading promotional activities in the Japanese market for the Segment, in alignment with Reginal Marketing and PR teams.
Essential Job Functions Work with Global CE Marketing, regional Sales and Engineering Support teams to define the marketing 4P of Dolby technology products; represent the region in the process. Understand the Segments short to long term goals and roadmap; develop strategy and plan to market Dolby technology products in the region. Provide tools and expertise to Sales in introduction and demonstration of Dolby technology products to customers. Lead promotional activities in the Japanese market; work with Regional Marketing and PR teams to communicate and position Dolby technology products in the Japanese market. Provide market intelligence, such as market environments, trends, competitions and market data, to regional Sales and Global CE Marketing. Manage regional marketing budget for the Segment.
Other Requirements: Ability to work in a team, demonstrating responsibility and leadership as necessary. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including presentation, in both Japanese and English. Intermediate to advanced knowledge and skills in using Microsoft business software applications, i.e. Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word. International business experience is a plus. Summary Description Responsible for building and maintaining the primary business relationship with a specified set of Dolby licensees. Develops revenue goals and targets, business plans and licensing penetration strategy in line with other Account Managers. Maintains healthy business environment for Dolby by researching and monitoring competitive activity, and identifying both current and future customer needs. Regularly interacts with licensees and license applicants as necessary, regarding technical issues, quality, contractual, financial, and public relations activities related to technology licensing. Coordinates with licensing senior managers in establishing both short and long term pricing and licensing fee strategies. Fosters business development by: seeking out and signing up new licensees , promoting excellence in the quality of customer service and responsiveness and identifying new licensing opportunities through enhanced or existing product offerings. Works closely with the companys technology offerings to bring about new applications for the company's licensed technologies: interfacing with engineering, marketing, and technology development, as necessary, to bring to fruition. Interacts with the senior management of other divisions within Dolby and high-level executives at licensees to resolve controversial or negotiation types of issues. Participates with other managers in the division in helping to formulate both technical and business direction for the division.
Essential Job Functions
Out-of-office Service (20% of time) Promote the quality and value associated with Dolby trademarks.Work to develop and understand the licensees perspective and convey these ideas to the SF office to help create and maintain excellence in the overall customer relationship.
Oversee the licensing relationship with companies and areas defined in your target group for all licensed Dolby technologies. Interact with licensees and license applicants as needed to conduct the business of technology licensing using a diplomatic, professional and service-oriented approach, including face-to-face meetings. Achieve targeted design wins.
Attend trade shows, seminars, conferences, and educational events to keep abreast of industry developments, promote Dolby technologies and examine the potential of new markets for Dolby technologies. In-office Service (30% of time) Manage the day-to-day communication activities with the target group, track, and ensure following- up on outstanding issues that the SF offices has with licensees. This may include working with liaison offices. Royalty tracking and revenue forecasting (30% of time) Create and maintain revenue forecasts for target group.
Assure accurate and on-time royalty reporting. Resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
Assist with tracking down illegal products.
Planning and Development (20% of time) Gather sales and market intelligence for target group. Participate in Market teams and work with team leaders to develop strategy and programs to increase revenue from use of Dolby technologies.
Create and maintain Strategic Account Plans. Identify support and collateral required to execute plans.
Supervisory Perform routine management duties such as hiring, training, performance management, counseling, policy implementation, and employee relations, etc.

Education, Skills, Abilities, and Experience Required BS or equivalent. Exposure to applications of audio and video products and technologies or 8 -12 years of relevant work experience. MBA a plus but not required.
Some supervisory experience preferred. Experience should include exposure to at least one of the following areas: DSP, SW development and/or licensing programs, analog and digital circuitry, PC architecture, broadcast technologies or testing consumer electronic products. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, ability to work independently to achieve goals established in a team environment. Interest in music or consumer electronics desirable. International travel and work experience desirable.
Fluency in English and Mandarin required.
