Join us and make a real difference in the world of entertainment.  As a Software Engineer in Test at Dolby you will test software that enables the next generation of Dolby technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop test cases and repeatable test steps and ensures that requirements are met through review with more senior staff.
  • Create modular, reliable, well-organized test scripts.
  • Follow company/group standards, guidelines, and process for QA, including test minimums, scripting conventions, bug workflow.
  • Participate constructively in peer review of work products, including test plan reviews, test case reviews, test script reviews, bug scrubs.
  • Establish requirement coverage and code coverage goals.
  • Produce and maintains accurate test documentation and code comments.
  • Maintain test archives.
  • Create detailed bug reports and verifies bug fixes.
  • Use established software tools (design, analysis, automation) and technologies (operating systems, libraries, kits) effectively.
  • Participate in requirement reviews, providing feedback as necessary.
  • Develop, documents and maintain test environments (both software and hardware) with assistance from senior staff.
  • Participate with senior engineers to establish product and system test plans.
  • Implement and conduct cost-effective comprehensive regression and product tests to ensure product requirements are met.
  • Utilize and adapt existing test automation tools.
  • Report issues through a formal bug tracking system and work with the engineering team to help isolate, debug, and resolve issues/bugs.
  • Setup, configure, and maintain software test labs and test environments.
  • Stay abreast of industry standard software testing tools and methodologies.

Requirements:

  • B.S. in Computer Science/Engineering or Electronics Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Strong fundamental programming skills and experience programming in Python and/or C/C++
  • Experience with software industry tools like GIT CI, Pytest, NumPy and SciPy
  • Experience with image processing and color science is strongly preferred
  • Experience with various software environments like Linux, OS X, Windows, etc.
  • Ability to achieve results, meet deadlines, and adjust to quickly changing priorities in a dynamic engineering environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, time management and organizational skills, and a thorough approach to problem solving.

The San Francisco/Bay Area base salary range for this full-time position is $131,100 - $157,700, which can vary if outside this location, plus bonus, benefits, and some roles may also include equity. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range and perks and benefits for your location during the hiring process.
