Associate Logistics Manager


What you’ll do.


You will join Dolby’s Global Logistics team at Dolby’s European HQ in Amsterdam and be reporting to the Sr. Global Logistics Manager.

As Associate Logistics Manager you will develop and deploy logistics strategies globally and manage the global Logistics infrastructure to ensure growth, efficiency, and continuity of the business.


You are involved and overseeing the day-to-day operations and provide Logistics solutions to solve operational challenges, supporting all business groups at Dolby.

You are responsible for maintaining compliance of logistics flows with local and global regulations (IATA DGR, Import/Export Control, Bonded customs warehouses). 


You will drive the Global Logistics processes within the business, ensuring processes become deeply embedded and followed by all regions. This requires a thorough review and analysis of current procedures, creation, and documentation of new procedures and policies.


Essential Job Functions


  • Effectively manage the third-party logistics providers by leading and executing operational excellence programs and audits.
  • You will work on ensuring SLAs are being followed and KPI's are met to control operations.
  • Keep control over Logistics costs (operations and infrastructure) and lead monthly business reviews with our third-party logistics providers (3PL and freight forwarders).
  • Control and monitor daily operations with our 3PL’s to guarantee high-level service to our internal and external customers, including the timing of inventory replenishments to Dolby Distribution centers or outbound fulfillment.
  • Develop Logistics infrastructure worldwide and implement new suitable solutions in dynamic environments, such as new freight strategies, warehousing, and FSL management.
  • Lead new 3PL warehouse launches or relocations in different regions of the world to support business needs.
  • Implement lean principles and methodology via automation (tools, systems, and processes) where appropriate with scalable and flexible processes.
  • Active in timely execution and coordination of critical deliveries to ensure smooth handling with outsourced partners.
  • Enhance and standardize Dolby’s internal WW shipping requests program and coordinate more complex shipping requests to ensure they are processed timely and accurately.
  • Understand and support trade compliance initiatives to ensure they adhere to Logistics processes.


What You'll Need


Technical, Reporting and data analysis

  • Ensure global inventory accuracy and review suppliers’ performances through KPIs.
  • Knowledge and understanding of IT interfaces between ERP systems and WMS.
  • Able to review and solve simple system issues in order processing.
  • Analytic skills as part of the decision-making process.


Knowledge, Skills, Experience, and Education Required

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on Supply Chain and/or Logistics.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Logistics in an international environment.
  • Strong operational experience and critical attention to details required.
  • Knowledge of customs procedures, international trade regulations, import/export, business, and high-tech industry background is a plus.
  • Customer-focused; Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in managing 3PL’s and understanding of bonded warehouse operations.
  • Advanced knowledge in Excel and Visio with strong process design and analysis skills.
  • Experience with SAP/Oracle or similar ERP, especially in Planning, Sales, and Logistics functions is a plus.
  • Must be able to work partially remotely, under minimum supervision, and make decisions independently however with the ability to openly seek advice and guidance.
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize activities and manage workload and work schedule accordingly.
  • Fluent in English.
