Based in London as part of the global Intellectual Property Protection & Enforcement (IPP&E) team and reporting to the Director of IPP&E for Europe, the Americas and Emerging Markets, this entry level role will involve assisting the team with our brand protection and revenue recovery programs in these regions. Direct experience in brand protection is not a requirement, and on-the-job training will be provided, but an interest in technology and intellectual property would be an advantage.



  • Research potential unlicensed targets from a broad selection, selecting a smaller number of targets for further investigation
  • Create and maintain documentation for open cases
  • Communicate with target companies, determining which products are royalty bearing and calculating royalties owed
  • Assist in the implementation of specific, pre-determined revenue recovery programs for the IPP&E team
  • Conduct training of customs and other enforcement agencies concerning Dolby’s IP
  • Liaise with customs officials on new cases
  • Review of new licensing applications for Americas, EMEA, and the Emerging Markets
  • Explaining past production settlement process and licensing options for the future, where appropriate
  • Co-ordinate approach with Dolby’s regional sales and business teams, as well as the litigation team, and other teams within IPP
  • Forecast revenues and recoveries from implementation of specified programs Support Director of IPP&E, EMEA in driving negotiations through to settlement
  • Other tasks as directed
  • Some international travel will be required


Desired Skills / Experience:

  • Strong data querying, mining and analysis skills
  • Strong research skills
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Excel
  • Solid communication skills
  • Proven ability to think independently
  • Undergraduate degree
  • Self-motivated, intuitive individual with excellent organizational skills
  • Flexibility in day-to-day work
  • An interest in technology in the context of intellectual property
  • Ability to work effectively across functional groups to achieve goals established in a team environment direct customer relation experience
  • Fluency in a second language would be an advantage
