Role Summary
Dolby Laboratories is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to join our team at our Atlanta, GA office. This is a full-time, hybrid role.
Reporting to the Corporate Accounting Manager, the General Ledger Accountant will work closely with Corporate Accounting team members based in both Atlanta and San Francisco. This role involves preparing journal entries, executing controls, performing account reconciliations, and driving process improvements.
You will also work cross-functionally with Business Finance and other departments to ensure accurate accruals and support quarterly flux analysis for management review. Success requires a strong foundation in US GAAP and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for partnering with teams across Finance, People & Places, Procurement, AP, Internal Audit, Revenue, and IT. This is a dynamic role with opportunity for growth and advancement.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and record journal entries, prepare balance sheet account reconciliations; identify issues, research and identify best solutions, and take appropriate action to resolve
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop world class finance and accounting processes and actively contribute to a highly disciplined financial close
- Provide timely and accurate accounting information to internal customers on ad hoc basis
- Maintain process documentation and ensure SOX 404 compliance for assigned areas
- Propose resolutions to complex/ambiguous problems; identify and proactively pursue areas for process improvement
- Assist in implementations of new policies and procedures
- Assist with external and internal audits
- Perform ad hoc Accounting related projects as requested
Skills and Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related field
- CPA preferred
- 2-3 years accounting experience
- Knowledge of US GAAP principles
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and follow through
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (i.e. pivot tables, vlookups)
- Naturally curious; eager to learn and take on new challenges
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills
- Exhibits pride of ownership and sets and adheres to uncompromising quality standards for deliverables
The Atlanta Area base salary range for this full-time position is $68,300 - $80,700, which can vary if outside this location, plus bonus, benefits, and some roles may also include equity. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training.
