Dolby is searching for a passionate media technologist to join us as a Product Manager for Dolby Vision Live Distribution solutions.

Are you ready to make an impact in the world of live entertainment? At Dolby, we're pioneering the way live sports, events, and channels are experienced. We need a dynamic Product Manager to lead our Dolby Vision Live Distribution solutions, helping to create unparalleled HDR experiences.

 

As Product Manager for Dolby Vision Live Distribution, you will manage the component products used by streaming providers and broadcasters to create Dolby Vision HDR experiences for sports, live events, and linear channels. You will grow the capabilities, reach, and adoption of existing components while defining new workflows and tools that innovate in the live HDR space. You will form product strategies in concert with Dolby’s broader business, engineering, and ecosystem teams, guided by close collaboration with customers and your deep understanding of live HDR video technology. You will constantly blend big-picture thinking with your ability to look around nuanced technical corners. As a product practitioner, you will turn these product strategies into great outcomes for our customers and professional partners while providing visibility and clarity throughout the organization.

 

Responsibilities and Scope:

  • Create and manage product roadmaps that blend short-term responsive development, strategic feature execution, and long-term architectural investments
  • Meet regularly with customers and partners to capture their immediate needs, learn their long-term vision, validate roadmap alignment, and provide real-time product and technical domain feedback
  • Conduct independent research to identify trends, analyze market opportunities, and refine your expertise on Dolby and generalized video technology
  • Create detailed product requirements that are both insightful and complete – giving engineers the context needed to innovate while eliminating ambiguity in outcomes
  • Collaborate daily with multiple global engineering teams to align priorities, resolve challenges, and refine requirements
  • Participate in future technology innovation by providing live streaming technical and industry insight during next-generation technology planning
  • Author high-quality documents and presentations for both internal and external audiences that provide education on workflows, technology strategies, and product vision

 

Core Requirements:

  • 6+ years of industry experience relating to broadcast infrastructure, live streaming, or media processing
  • 2+ years of product management or product ownership experience
  • Demonstrated experience delivering successful outcomes in technically complex video products
  • Deep knowledge of digital video, live streaming or broadcast, and HDR
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including public presentations
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience delivering software packaged as development kits, APIs, or command-line interfaces
  • Hands-on scripting or coding experience
  • Knowledge of OTT packaging standards such as HLS, DASH, and CMAF
  • Experience deploying products as cloud-based services
  • Agile software development experience or training

The Atlanta Area base salary range for this full-time position is $129,700 - $158,500 which can vary if outside this location, plus equity, bonus, and benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training.
