Role Summary

The Sr. Manager, Process Automation & Enterprise Applications Governance is a leadership role within the IT Enterprise Applications team, responsible for defining, delivering, and scaling enterprise-wide process automation capabilities while also overseeing select application governance, collaborative work management, and operational functions. This role will be based in Bangalore, India and will report to the Sr. Director of Enterprise Applications.

 

The primary focus of this role is leading the Process Automation function, including the design, development, and support of business process orchestration, application test automation, and robotic process automation (RPA) solutions. This role manages a team of developers and analysts and partners closely with business and IT leaders to identify, prioritize, and deliver high-value automation opportunities.

 

In addition, the role owns oversees Enterprise Applications project governance, collaborative work management (CWM) tools and strategy, and select operational activities to ensure consistent execution, transparency, and operational rigor across the portfolio.

 

Key Responsibilities

Process Automation Leadership (Primary Focus)

  • Own and lead the Enterprise Applications process automation strategy, roadmap, and delivery model.
  • Manage a team of developers and analysts responsible for building and maintaining:
    • Business process orchestration and workflow automation
    • Application test automation scripts
    • Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions
  • Drive solution delivery using platforms such as UiPath, Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps), and other business orchestration and automation technology (BOAT) solutions.
  • Establish and enforce automation development standards, best practices, security controls, and documentation.
  • Partner with IT business systems analysts (BSAs) and business stakeholders to identify automation opportunities, assess value, and prioritize work based on business impact and feasibility.
  • Partner with the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Center of Excellence team at Dolby to find ways to leverage AI as a key component of our automation strategy.
  • Ensure automation solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise architecture and application strategies.

 

Application Test Automation

  • Oversee the development and maintenance of automated test scripts used in feature and regression testing of the processes supported by our Enterprise Applications, using tools such as Tricentis and UiPath.
  • Ensure test automation supports enterprise applications delivery, reduces manual testing effort, and improves release quality.
  • Collaborate with application teams to integrate test automation into the broader delivery lifecycle.

Collaborative Work Management (CWM) Tools & Strategy

  • Oversee an analyst responsible for enterprise collaborative work management (CWM) tools, including Smartsheet and Airtable.
  • Own the administration of CWM platforms, including user access management, licensing reviews, and vendor coordination.
  • Define and maintain the enterprise strategy for collaborative work management tools, including rationalization, standardization, and future-state direction.
  • Guide business teams on selecting the appropriate CWM tools for specific use cases, balancing flexibility, governance, and scalability.
  • Ensure clear positioning and differentiation between tools (e.g., when to use Smartsheet vs. Airtable) and avoid unnecessary tool overlap.
  • Drive enablement and adoption through user training, documentation, and best-practice guidance.

Project Management Lifecycle (PMLC) Governance

  • Own and oversee Enterprise Applications adherence to the IT Project Management Lifecycle (PMLC).
  • Manage analysts responsible for reviewing proposed and in-flight projects to ensure required artifacts are complete and approved at each phase gate (e.g., business requirements, design documentation, test plans, deployment readiness).
  • Partner with project managers and application owners to ensure consistent governance without unnecessary bureaucracy.
  • Provide visibility into project health, risks, and compliance with governance standards.

Enterprise Applications Operational Oversight

  • Own miscellaneous operational and coordination activities that support the smooth functioning of the Enterprise Applications team, including:
    • Review of service-level achievement (SLA) and operational performance reports
    • Ensuring weekly status reports are completed and accurate
    • Representing Enterprise Applications needs and priorities in cross-IT committees and forums
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational processes, reporting, and team efficiency.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of automation developers and analysts, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with Enterprise Applications leaders, Architecture, Infrastructure, Security, and PMO teams.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business and IT leaders on automation strategy and execution.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of experience in IT, enterprise applications, or process automation roles.
  • 5+ years of experience leading teams delivering automation solutions using platforms such as UiPath, Microsoft Power Platform, or comparable BOAT technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and scaling enterprise-grade automation solutions.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to define the project scope, establish a timeline, coordinate resources, communicate status, and manage the delivery of results.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), testing practices, and IT governance.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, including extensive experience meeting and presenting to senior executives.
  • Experience working with project governance frameworks and phase-gate reviews.
  • Proven ability to partner with business stakeholders and translate business needs into technical solutions.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with UiPath, Power Automate, Power Apps, and Tricentis.
  • Experience establishing or maturing an enterprise automation center of excellence (CoE).
  • Familiarity with enterprise application landscapes (ERP, CRM, HR, Finance systems).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at both technical and executive levels.
