Based in Beijing, the PR Manager reports into the Senior PR Manager and works closely with the China Marketing team and the global PR team as well as multiple business teams in China and at the Headquarters. In this role, you will continue to learn, hone in on and expand your skills in public relations. You will have the opportunity to help further shape Dolby’s PR presence in China and help manage the journey that drives customers and consumers through this ecosystem.

 

You will work closely with senior staff members both in China and globally, in planning, analyzing and evaluating information for PR initiatives. Your work will join you with a great team for larger projects, but you’ll also need to work independently to exercise your skills of independent judgment to successfully complete tasks.

 

 

Essential Job Functions:

Among other engagements, the PR Manager will:

  • Impact results by planning and developing, managing and executing PR activities and campaigns focused around Dolby’s China businesses
  • Write content including press releases, pitches, and press outreach
  • Pitch stories, media relations, product initiatives, film screenings, Cinema site launches, events, and more through support from the PR agency
  • Help provide insight into key trends in our industry and monitor competitive products in market, including providing insight into competitors’ press and social activities
  • Participle in brainstorming, strategy and planning sessions
  • Track and analyze Dolby and competitor media coverage
  • Help deliver plans and reports

 

 

Education, Skills, Abilities, and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above
  • 6-8 years of related experience
  • Strong communications skills, especially writing
  • Experience in journalism, communications, or media
  • Excellent English skills, both speaking and writing
  • Agency experience is a plus
  • Intellectual curiosity
  • Media savvy with knowledge of China regional, technology, consumer and entertainment media and influencers
  • Ability to explain complex ideas simply and concisely
  • Storytelling chops – know how to tell an irresistible story
  • Interest in consumer technology and/or the entertainment industry including movies, games, and/or music is a major plus
