Position Summary:

This Senior Field Applications Engineer (Sr. FAE) position is based in Beijing office, to support our system licensees to adopt Dolby’s technologies into their products. This role is the technical interface to system customers, will need to be familiar with Dolby’s specific technologies, provide technical support in both pre-sale and post-sale phases, cooperate with different Dolby teams and customer teams, by following specific process, to make sure Dolby’s technologies are correctly integrated and verified in the target system products.

 

 

Working Scope:

This role will interact with licensees, license applicants, and Dolby staff as needed to conduct and enable the Dolby’s business of technology licensing. A diplomatic, professional and service-oriented approach is required, including written correspondence and face-to-face meetings with customers and industry partners.

  • Supporting licensees to integrate Dolby technologies into their system products. This needs to work with licensees’ engineering team and product team, resolve issues found during integration and testing phases, explain Dolby’s technologies to licensees, with supporting from Dolby’s in-house engineering team.
  • Evaluating test data and communicating test results to customers.
  • Collecting licensees’ requirements and feeding back to Dolby’s account team, product team and engineering team.
  • Continually maintaining comprehensive, accurate, and accessible records and documentation in both personal and company files and databases.
  • Supporting event and tradeshows to demo Dolby technologies with well-prepared scripts and Q&A materials.
  • Domestic travelling to Chinese licensee sites is needed. International travel occasionally is also required. These travel needs to follow either governmental or official guidelines for security and health maintenance purposes.

 

 

Skills, Education, Abilities and Experience:

  • Familiar with Android OS framework multi-media software development, audio and/or video part is preferred. This domain further breaks down to below skill sets:
    • Linux/JAVA development experience
    • Object oriented programming and multi-thread programming experience
    • Audio codec and post-processing experience is desired.
    • Video decoding is desired
  • BSEE/CS or equivalent and 3 years of experience in mobile device product or signal processing electronic products.
  • Good communication skills to interact with licensees and license applicants by email, by phone, and in person to provide needed information and technical support during mobile device development.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin, and willingness to develop these skills further.
  • Audio/acoustic components tuning experience or skills are plus

 

 

Exposure to below areas are desirable: mobile device audio and acoustic software and hardware components. Digital or analog signal processing, QA or QRE, software development, multimedia applications.
