The Dolby imaging team in Berlin designs algorithms and develops software that enables the next generation of Dolby's media processing technologies. You will work as part of an engineering team designing, developing, and testing video processing algorithms and software products. For this, you will work closely with other teams and functions including product management, research, and quality assurance.
 

Job Functions:

  • Design and implement algorithms, software libraries, and applications for media processing and distribution based on product requirements;
  • Extend and optimize existing software implementations;
  • Elaborate innovative ideas in the field of video processing and IP delivery;
  • Understand, optimize and develop algorithms for new ways of processing and delivery of digital video data;
  • Collaborate with co-developers, product stakeholders, and QA;

     
Position Requirements:

  • BS or MS Degree in Computer Science, Software or electrical engineering, or related; 
  • Expert in software development in C and C++ with 5+ years job experience;
  • Expert in video coding, video processing and/or image processing;
  • Passion for thinking algorithms and coding;
  • Familiarity with/readiness to acquire fundamentals of signal processing and video coding;
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English;

     
Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience with software development tools (MS Visual Studio, GCC, CMake);
  • Experience with assembler programming for x86 especially SSE and AVX;
  • Proficient knowledge of a scripting language like Python or Javascript;
  • Experience with video formats, High Dynamic Range, or other enhanced video formats;
  • Experience with cloud APIs and distributed media processing;
  • Proficient knowledge of Linux, macOS, and Windows System;
  • Proficient knowledge of git or another SCM system;
  • Familiarity with functional test automation techniques and tools;
