The Marketing department creates passion and relevance for the "Dolby Difference" driving sell-in and sell-thru of Dolby enabled devices, services, content, and experiences across multiple constituents – partners, creators, consumers, and developers.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead real-time community engagement across Dolby’s global social platforms (Meta, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, RedNote, and emerging platforms).
  • Proactively engage in relevant conversations across entertainment, sports, film, gaming, and technology communities.
  • Identify high-visibility cultural moments and engage in ways that are platform-appropriate and aligned with Dolby’s brand values.
  • Manage inbound comments, direct messages, and mentions, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Develop and maintain community engagement playbooks and response frameworks tailored to platform needs.
  • Partner with agency teams to define and track community management KPIs.
  • Collaborate with global agency partners to continuously improve community management programs and processes.
  • Experience with Reddit and Discord is a plus.

 

Cultural & Event Coverage (Global)

  • Provide real-time coverage support for global tentpole events (e.g., awards shows, major sporting events, film premieres, and product launches).
  • Support global event coverage across multiple time zones, including occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays as business needs require.
  • Identify opportunities for timely and relevant engagement during live events.

 

Cross-Platform & Cross-Regional Support

  • Support the team across content publishing, social listening, reporting, and campaign amplification.
  • Facilitate information sharing between global and regional social teams.
  • Track cultural insights and performance trends and communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Help implement and scale best practices across markets.
  • Coordinate ongoing community management reporting, establish reporting cadences, and develop reports that highlight best practices, trends, insights, and opportunities for growth.

 

Platform Growth & Innovation

  • Research emerging platforms, technologies, and audience trends.
  • Support the launch and setup of new social channels.
  • Identify opportunities for experimentation, innovation, and audience growth.
  • Stay informed about platform updates, algorithm changes, and evolving digital engagement practices.

 

Insights & Reporting

  • Monitor engagement performance and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Provide weekly engagement and community health summaries.
  • Track audience sentiment and indicators of cultural relevance.

  • Is chronically online in the best way; someone who understands memes, tone shifts, creator culture, and platform nuance instinctively.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment about when and how brands should participate in emerging conversations and trends.
  • Understands the difference between polished brand messaging and authentic, platform-appropriate engagement.
  • Can adapt quickly to changing priorities while maintaining thoughtful decision-making.
  • Thrives in collaborative environments and is comfortable working with colleagues across regions, backgrounds, and time zones.
  • Brings strong brand stewardship skills and can help maintain and evolve Dolby's voice across platforms.

 

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience in social media, community management, or a related field.
  • Experience working with entertainment, technology, sports, media, or consumer-facing brands preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing brand communities across multiple social platforms.
    Experience supporting real-time event coverage is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of social listening tools and platform analytics.
  • Experience launching or growing social media communities or channels is a plus.
  • Excellent written communication skills and the ability to adapt messaging for different audiences and platforms.
  • Ability to support global events that may occasionally require work outside standard business hours.

The Los Angeles Area base salary range for this full-time position is $90,000 - 120,000, which can vary if outside this location, plus bonus, benefits, and some roles may also include equity. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training.
