The Marketing department creates passion and relevance for the "Dolby Difference" driving sell-in and sell-thru of Dolby enabled devices, services, content, and experiences across multiple constituents – partners, creators, consumers, and developers.
Dolby Creator Lab: Manager, Music Industry Content & Programs
Dolby Creator Lab’s mission is to educate, inspire, and support content creators in using Dolby technologies. We are seeking a creative, resourceful, and skilled candidate to develop and lead programming for the music industry ecosystem, promoting the adoption of Dolby Atmos Music creation tools.
The primary responsibilities of this role include guiding and supporting content creation and presentation, ensuring artists, studios, and other partners are proficient in Dolby tools, and helping them maximize the potential of Dolby technology. As a key liaison, this role will facilitate collaboration between artists, creators, management, and label teams, sharing valuable insights and feedback with internal product and marketing teams to enhance the user experience.
This role is based at Dolby’s Los Angeles office.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expertise on Dolby’s content creation and presentation processes, collaborating with artists, studios, and other partners working with Dolby Atmos Music content.
- Work with cross-functional teams to refine the Dolby Atmos Music creation workflow, aiming to reduce friction and encourage widespread adoption across the industry.
- Design and implement programs in the APAC region, with a focus on expanding Dolby Atmos Music adoption.
- Coordinate with Dolby Live and Creator Lab teams on collaborative opportunities to enhance Dolby Live experiences.
- Develop and deliver training materials to help artists easily learn Dolby's content creation and presentation tools.
- Participate in Dolby Creator Lab Music Accelerator programs as a subject-matter expert.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with assigned artists, managers, creatives, and other music industry partners.
- Provide in-person support for content authoring and presentation events, troubleshooting Dolby software and hardware issues as needed.
- Travel to offer demonstrations and technical or creative support for artists, including onsite assistance at performances.
- Support artist and industry outreach events, ensuring content quality meets artists’ standards, troubleshooting any issues, and maintaining Dolby Atmos music studios.
- Collect and share artist-driven input and feedback with management and peers within Dolby.
- Maintain records of artist engagements, ensuring visibility for team members.
- Complete objectives and support team initiatives as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, technical, or related fields; advanced degree (e.g., MBA) or equivalent experience is a plus.
- At least 5 years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong knowledge of audio, video, and/or internet technologies, with a passion for advancing entertainment technology.
- Familiarity with Dolby’s products, technologies, and customers or comparable industry knowledge is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to build consensus in planning and product development.
- Strong organizational skills and experience navigating a matrix organization; ability to work hands-on and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally; international work experience is a plus.
The San Francisco/Bay Area base salary range for this full-time position is $148,000 - $204,000, which can vary if outside this location, plus bonus, benefits, and some roles may also include equity. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training.
