SUMMARY

As a QA Software Engineer in Test Intern for the Dolby QA group, you will primarily focus on testing software that enables the next generation of Dolby technologies. You will help design, specify, craft and maintain the QA test environment as well as design, write and execute tests in Python using the pytest framework. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Intern responsibilities will focus 75% on test plan creation and manual test execution. This includes designing, developing, and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure software is of high quality. The other 25% will be spent on improving testing by writing automation scripts using python

  • Intern will work with development and QA engineers to understand the software requirements and establish products test plans for software development kits.
  • Review technical documentation to ensure documented requirements as set forth by development team
  • Identify, reproduce, and report defects through a formal bug tracking system and work with the engineering team to help isolate, debug, and resolve issues/bugs
  • Participate in reviews of software designs and specifications to ensure they are testable.

  • Help identify and implement improvements in the software development process to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the testing process

  • Utilize and adapt existing test automation tools such as Electric Flow to automate and schedule repetitive tasks, increase quality, and reliability for system testing.

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

 

  • Ability to work in fast paced development environment and keep up to date with new and experimental test technologies to improve testing processes and tools.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers to ensure that software is delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards

  • Ability to communicate effectively in concise presentations with supporting documentation of test results, defects, and bug-tracking reports.
  • Ability to work independently to achieve goals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

ELIGIBILITY 

Working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field; recent grads who are within 6 months of graduation are also eligible to apply. Must be available to work full-time Monday–Friday for 3 months starting from May/June 2023.

The San Francisco/Bay Area base hourly range for this internship position is $45 - $50 depending on education level and can vary if outside of this location. Our hourly ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific hourly range and perks and benefits for your location during the hiring process.
