The Dolby team is looking for a Sr. Product Manager with the expertise to work closely with major media companies like ViacomCBS, Disney, and Sony Pictures as they move to adopt Dolby technologies in the cloud. We are looking for someone with excellent verbal and written communication skills, who is self-motivated, and who has an aptitude to work with both customers and internal engineering teams.

Your primary function will be the liaison between the media world and Dolby’s cloud services teams. Your expertise in media operations will help prospective customers understand and implement our services. As you evaluate the evolving market, you will work on defining new product capabilities, and then create the Product Requirements Documents that will guide the Dolby development teams in their efforts. You should be customer-centric, with strong business acumen and technical depth with hands-on experiences in defining, building, and launching media services.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Be an authority on cloud media services
  • Serve as primary product evangelist to customers and partners focusing on the core technical aspects of the product and technologies
  • Develop and communicate clear product vision and strategy, product positioning of current and future, messaging, and value proposition internally and externally
  • Understand customer and market requirements
  • Develop and validate new product concepts with customers
  • Translate market requirements into product deliverables, including API definition
  • Deliver technical presentations, technology demonstrations, and promote the value proposition of Dolby technologies to customers
  • Keep up to date with market trends, emerging technologies, research the competition and provide competitive product analysis.

Requirements:

  • BS or similar (Media Production, Computer Science, etc.)
  • 8 years or more of direct experience in broadcast or OTT industry
  • Demonstrated professional knowledge of video technologies, including production, post-production, and distribution workflows
  • Extensive experience with video codecs and compression standards
  • Experience working with streaming technologies and protocols including HLS and MPEG-DASH
  • Experience working with production, post-production and mastering, quality control and delivery of online content
  • Understanding of new and emerging video and audio formats such as Dolby Vision and ATMOS
  • Experience with one or more scripting languages (PERL, Python, BASH, etc.)
  • Experience with media production in cloud environments like Amazon AWS and Google GCP
  • Knowledge of Dolby's products, technologies and customers.
  • Self-motivated and self-disciplined
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and demonstrated ability to work independently to achieve goals established in a team environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams, both functionally and geographically
  • High competency in written and verbal English
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% - domestically and internationally
