Dolby’s consumer entertainment and cinema businesses are bringing Dolby’s breakthrough technologies, powering the world’s top movies, TV shows, music, games, and live sports to more places around the world across a wider range of consumer experiences and devices.

 

Dolby’s Technical Operations Group promotes and provides services to support Dolby’s content formats.  This includes the creation of content in-house and assisting the industry to establish efficient workflows to create and distribute Dolby enabled content.  Dolby also operates two Los Angeles area screening rooms where filmmakers and industry professionals can create and showcase their work. This role primarily works SWING SHIFT (3PM-11PM) hours.

 

MAIN DUTIES:

 

Screening Rooms/Labs

  • Operate screening rooms for various playback rentals, events, QCs, mixes and tests.
  • Interact with clients for technical guidance as it relates to their use of the rooms.
  • Operate color grading and audio mixing equipment. (Baselight, Resolve, ProTools, etc.)
  • Assist in the maintenance of the technical infrastructure to ensure minimum of downtime and efficient running of systems. Liaise with suppliers and support service providers as required.

 

Mastering and Distribution

  • Encode and package Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos theatrical content
  • QCs of content
  • Replicate and deliver finished content via physical or electronic means
  • Provide KDM generation and delivery as required

 

System Programming

  • Using standard industry software, provide and maintain programming for various A/V and control systems. (Crestron, Audio Architect, etc.)

 

Customer Support

  • Carry out playback support for content which Dolby has created, or in which Dolby has a vested interest for successful playback

 

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform other duties as required by management

 

 

GUIDELINES – (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES):

 

Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant audio/video industry experience.
  • Expertise in audio/video hardware & software systems is essential.
  • A technical understanding of Digital Cinema and accompanying workflows is important.

 

Skills:

  • Good communication skills with both internal and external contacts is essential.

 

Abilities:

  • During high volume workload periods, the role will require the ability to work under pressure to meet demanding deadlines and manage workflows accordingly.

 

Personal Attributes:

  • Demonstrate the ability to have attention to detail, including when working under pressure.
  • Able to manage workload within specified deadlines.

 

PRACTICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • The primary work hours for this role are 3PM-11PM Monday to Friday but flexibility will be needed for various daytime and weekend coverage.
  • On occasions overtime may be required in order to meet deadlines.

The Burbank base salary range for this full-time position is $82,600 - $99,200 plus bonus, equity, and benefits, and can vary if outside of this location. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training.
