Senior Director, Gaming Business

 

Dolby is looking for a leader to head and grow our Gaming business. We provide audio and imaging solutions to game developers and gaming devices (consoles, PCs, smartphones) that improve the gaming experience. Our current offerings include Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision for games.

 

Responsibilities:


-    This is the role at Dolby that has primary responsibility for Gaming revenue and products
-    Responsible for setting the vision for Dolby’s gaming business and for executing towards fulfilling the vision
-    Grow the business in terms of both revenue and scope of products
-    Lead a team of product managers that identify market opportunities and define products. Creates a well-defined long-term product roadmap.     
-    Collaborate with other key functions (engineering, marketing, sales, developer relations, research) to deliver value to the industry and grow the Dolby business
-    A key determinant of success in this role is the ability of this leader to work with their team and others to define concrete offerings of value from Dolby for the gaming industry. An example of this is the following – “spatial audio in gaming” which is an offering of value that Dolby is uniquely positioned to deliver. Bringing that “offering of value” to market requires multiple products from Dolby, that the gaming team defines and builds.


Requirements


-    Deep knowledge of the gaming industry and the culture of gaming. Will very likely have worked multiple years in gaming.
-    Technical expertise equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in computer science or electrical engineering
-    Evidence of ability to build and collaboratively lead teams that are comprised of individuals that directly report into this role as well as individuals who don’t
-    Demonstrated impact in prior roles. Drives results and shows propensity to act.
-    Strong desire and demonstrated ability to deliver business growth through new product development.
-    Ability to communicate well internally (across, up and down in the org) and externally
