The Vice President, Finance & Operations will serve as a senior operational executive for Via, bringing financial discipline, scalable operating practices, technology leadership, and leadership capacity to a growing licensing pool administrator. The role will provide executive oversight across Finance, Accounting, Royalty Services, Tax Administration, IT, and ongoing process improvement, while partnering closely with the President and leadership team to strengthen operational resilience, business systems capability, and support business growth. 

 

The Vice President, Finance & Operations is a key member of the Via’s leadership team and is responsible for leading the operational infrastructure required to support the company's continued growth and success. This leader will drive financial stewardship, operational scalability, IT and business systems leadership, process modernization, and organizational effectiveness while ensuring high standards of accuracy, compliance, service quality, security awareness, and business performance. 

 

As a leader of leaders, the VP will build and develop a high-performing management team, establish operating mechanisms that support scale, and serve as a strategic partner to the President in shaping the future operating model of the organization. This is a hybrid role and requires working in the Denver/Greenwood Village office three days per week (Tuesday through Thursday).

 

  

Key Responsibilities

 

Executive Leadership & Business Partnership 

  • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to the President and executive leadership team. 
  • Develop and execute operational strategies that support business growth, licensing program expansion, and organizational objectives. 
  • Lead annual operating planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes. 
  • Create and monitor key business performance metrics, operating rhythms, and leadership dashboards. 
  • Drive cross-functional alignment, disciplined decision-making, and accountability across operational teams. 

 

Finance & Accounting Leadership 

  • Lead all finance and accounting functions, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, internal controls, treasury management, and audit coordination. 
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting and business analysis. 
  • Maintain compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and corporate governance expectations. 
  • Partner with leadership to evaluate investments, growth opportunities, resource allocation, and strategic initiatives. 
  • Oversee cash flow management, financial risk mitigation, and financial operating discipline. 

 

Royalty Services Leadership 

  • Provide executive oversight of Royalty Services, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, process consistency, and strong stakeholder service. 
  • Drive operational excellence across royalty collection, distribution, invoicing, reporting, and customer support. 
  • Establish scalable processes capable of supporting increased program complexity, transaction volume, and market growth. 
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, efficiency, service levels, and operational resilience

 

IT, AI & Business Systems Transformation Leadership

  • Provide executive oversight of Via’s IT function, ensuring technology services, systems, and support models enable operational scale, business continuity, and secure, reliable execution. 
  • Lead the development of a practical AI and automation roadmap that improves productivity, strengthens decision support, and modernizes finance, royalty services, accounting, and business operations. 
  • Partner with IT and functional leaders to prioritize systems improvements, infrastructure needs, data integrity, security-aligned practices, AI-enabled tools, and user support capabilities. 
  • Ensure IT, AI, and business systems investments are aligned with Via’s licensing program growth, royalty services requirements, finance operations, and broader transformation roadmap. 
  • Strengthen governance and accountability for technology-enabled operations, including business systems performance, AI tool adoption, data stewardship, service levels, vendor coordination, and continuous improvement. 
  • Champion responsible AI use by establishing practical guardrails, adoption standards, training expectations, and change management practices that support measurable business impact without introducing unnecessary operational, compliance, or reputational risk. 

 

Operational Excellence & Transformation

  • Lead ongoing process improvement initiatives that increase efficiency, reduce risk, and improve execution quality. 
  • Identify operational risks, process gaps, and scalability challenges, then implement sustainable solutions. 
  • Drive business systems optimization, automation, and modernization efforts in partnership with technology and functional leaders. 
  • Establish governance processes, management routines, and operating mechanisms that support effective execution and informed decision-making. 

 

Organizational Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop functional leaders and managers across Finance, Accounting, Royalty Services, Tax, and Business Operations. 
  • Build organizational capability, leadership bench strength, succession plans, and role clarity across the operating functions. 
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. 
  • Support workforce planning and organizational design as Via scales. 


Required Qualifications 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Information Systems, or a related field. 
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience overseeing finance, accounting, operations, IT, royalty services, shared services, or similarly complex business functions. 
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams through other leaders in a multi-layered organization. 
  • Proven ability to manage and develop leaders, build organizational capability, and create accountability across multiple functions. 
  • Strong financial acumen, business judgment, strategic planning capability, and operational discipline. 
  • Experience developing and managing budgets, forecasts, business metrics, and financial performance reporting. 
  • Track record of leading operational scaling, process improvement, transformation, or systems modernization initiatives. 
  • Experience providing executive oversight of IT, business systems, or technology-enabled operations in partnership with technical leaders. 
  • Excellent executive communication, influencing, stakeholder management, and change leadership skills. 
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and executional levels in a growing and evolving organization. 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

 

  • MBA, CPA, or equivalent advanced degree or financial certification. 
  • Experience in licensing, intellectual property, technology, media, software, financial services, professional services, or another operationally complex environment with significant systems, data, or technology-enabled operations. 
  • Experience implementing automation, digital transformation, AI-enabled tools, or other scalable process improvements. 
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or operational excellence training or certification. 

 

The Denver Area base salary range for this full-time position is $186,000 - $263,000 and can vary if outside of this location. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training.
