The Automotive industry is going through a massive transformation. Electrification, Autonomous driving, Services and Connectivity are key focus areas for every Automotive brand these days. Entertainment in the car is becoming a key differentiator and we at Dolby are at the forefront of these changes with our remarkable Audiovisual technologies that heighten and deepen these entertainment experiences in the car.

 

We are looking for a very talented and passionate Automotive Sales Manager to accelerate and grow our activities in Automotive across Europe for our Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision technologies that have already been implemented on billions of entertainment devices across the globe. Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision have started to delight consumers in the car to augment their favourite Music, Podcast, Gaming and Movie experiences. Selling Dolby technologies into a car requires a deep understanding of the Automotive value and supply chain as well as Dolby’s ecosystem.  This includes content creators in Music, Games and Movies, Music, Podcast and Audiovisual entertainment streaming service providers and partners that integrate these technologies into cars such as Tier 1s, Middleware partners and SoC companies. Around 80 million new cars are sold globally every year and it is our mission at Dolby to reach out to these consumers with our technologies.

 

 

SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   

                                                                 

  • Sales Management
    • Strong analytical skills to define target accounts and proper sales strategy.
    • Advanced communication skills to define and engage with the responsible people within the target organization.
    • Presentation and multi -level selling skills to advance in the sales process.
    • Influence decision making by perfect understanding of customer requirements and decision criteria.
    • Strong negotiation skills to close deals commercially and contractually.
    • Strong existing network in the automotive industry will be a strong advantage. 
  • Thought leadership
    • Active business development and industry networking approach to position Dolby as the leader in entertainment technologies in Automotive.
    • Participate in tradeshows, industry conferences and other relevant events to create a relevant network of supporters and partners.
    • Wider involvement in ecosystem activities with streaming service partners, Tier 1s, SoC and connectivity partners to influence the relevance of Dolby.
  • Partner with the Product management and field Engineering teams
    • Partner with the product management team to create the proper go-to-market approach from a product, pricing, and communication perspective.
    • Give feedback to the product management team on market and customer dynamics that are relevant to our success.
    • Actively support the innovation process based on customer requirements and customer feedback.
    • Support the field engineering team in scoping the customer project and facilitate the proper communication channels between the customers and Dolby’s engineering teams.
    • Stay aligned with the field engineering team to manage customer expectations and project delivery.

 

 

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

 

  • 5-10 years of relevant industry experience with the necessary level of maturity required for this role including 3-5 years of experience in selling to Automotive OEM’s or Tier 1s. 
  • Bachelor/Masters degree or equivalent in Science/ Engineering/ Business or the equivalent in experience; past experience working in a multinational company would be an advantage.
  • Experience driving complex sales engagements to on-time completion, manage priorities and dealing with ambiguity.
  • Demonstrated experience leading sales projects with Automotive OEM’s or Tier1s 
  • Proven ability to develop strategies, translate them into initiatives and drive successful sales engagements.
  • Must have strong, demonstrated, presentation skills to groups of all sizes and levels including senior level.Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential; written and verbal interactions with customers individually and in groups are a major part of the job. Adept with soft communication skills, taking an inclusive and active listening approach to influence others and make decisions.
  • Demonstrates working in a culture of belonging, where diversity and different points of view are valued.
  • Demonstrates being a steward for Dolby, putting the lens of delivering the most value for the company.
  • Excellent command of English and German is a must.

 

Note:  This position requires regular travel and work outside normal hours.
