Summary:

This role is a part of Commercial Partnerships, Europe. Reporting to the EMEA Technology and Support organization specifically focused on Living Room products: Sound Bars, Wireless Speakers, Televisions, etc. Field Application Engineers are responsible for providing technical support for Dolby's consumer electronics partners in Europe during pre-sales, product development and post-sales.

 

Job Functions:

  • Support Field Applications Engineering laboratory activities for Living Room products,
  • Execution of Dolby test procedures on Living Room products,
  • Provide technical analysis of product test results and recommend necessary changes to ensure Dolby product approval,
  • Maintaining support for Living Room technology demonstrations and lab facilities,
  • Helping with the setting up of the test environment and logistics/shipment of test devices,
  • Document the activities for knowledge transfer and weekly reports.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and enrolled on an Engineering Master's degree program for Fall/2023 and Spring/2024 semesters is required,
  • Ability to present and explain complex technical concepts and conduct training,
  • Understanding of electroacoustic design principles, and measurement tools is desirable,
  • Understanding of the evaluation and integration of audio components such as loudspeakers and amplifiers into A/V products is desirable,
  • Understanding of programming(embedded and signal processing), operating systems, middleware and scripting languages (like Python) is desirable,
  • A basic understanding of OTT / VOD and broadcast standards, formats and workflows is a plus,
  • Interest in music, video or gaming is desirable,
  • Strong organizational skills to work independently and in a team environment,
  • Thorough training on Dolby's technologies and licensing practices will be provided,
  • Business fluent in English.
