Dolby’s consumer entertainment and cinema businesses are bringing Dolby’s breakthrough technologies, powering the world’s top movies, TV shows, music, games, and live sports to more places around the world across a wider range of consumer experiences and devices.

 

Dolby’s Content Services Group promotes and provides services to support Dolby’s content formats.  Our Applications Engineers play a pivotal role in supporting partners throughout the content creation journey, ensuring proper equipment installation, configuration, and access to essential training and expertise.

 

Main Duties:

  • Provide technical liaison and engineering support to studios, screening rooms, theatrical exhibitors, post-production facilities, distribution/production companies, and broadcasters.
    • Equipment installation and set-up of Dolby and other related manufacturers equipment
    • Audio system calibration (“room tuning”)
    • Cinema Projection systems calibration/setup 
    • System troubleshooting
  • Provide on-site support for mixing and printmasters of Dolby Atmos soundtracks for theatrical, broadcast, OTT, and other delivery formats.
  • Provide on-site support for screenings, premieres, and special events. 
  • Provide technical training and support for Dolby technologies, products, and tools.

 

Additional Duties:

  • Assist other Dolby teams in support of Dolby products and technologies.
  • Assist Dolby’s engineering teams in finding and reporting design and software bugs.
  • Represent Dolby at conventions and trade shows, supporting setup, giving demonstrations, and providing technical information.
  • Technical account management for selected content creation facilities and studios.
  • Prepare time logs and reports of work performed as required.
  • Other duties as required by management.

    
Preferred Skills and Education: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant audio/video industry experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of relevant audio and/or image equipment including audio and video processors, calibration equipment, amplifiers, audio/video routing, mixing consoles, audio DAW systems, and computer networking.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Must be able to interface professionally and effectively with customers at all levels including technical, artistic, and executive.
  • Ability to think and act strategically with strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision, prioritize work, and work to deadlines.

 

Practical Requirements:

  • Work to be performed both locally and remotely; the ability to travel regularly is required. 
  • Certain assignments may require overtime and/or weekend work.
  • Heavy lifting may be required on a limited basis.
  • Have a valid drivers license and means of transportation/vehicle.
     

The New York Area base salary range for this full-time position is $131,100-$157,700, which can vary if outside this location, plus bonus, benefits, and some roles may also include equity. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training.
