Summary Description   

Exciting opportunity for a Field Application Engineer to help bring innovative in-car entertainment systems to market.  

The objective of this role is to help bring Dolby Atmos to cars, this means working with car manufacturers, Tier 1 automotive OEMs, and middleware/software makers. This role will provide technical support during pre-sales, integration, and post-sales of Dolby’s licensed technologies.  

 

The position is based in our office in Germany – either in Munich or Nuremberg. 

 

Essential Job Functions:  

  • Provide detailed systems-level support for Dolby Audio Technologies to Dolby’s automotive customers. Support and resolve issues regarding Dolby Technologies in product development and deployment. 

  • Provide pre-sales support, technical training to customers, and support to accounting managers as required.  

  • Provide relevant technical analysis of the customer’s systems across In-vehicle- Infotainment, streaming services integration, and cabin acoustics. 

  • Work closely with the European account management team. In conjunction with the rest of the sales group, evangelize Dolby technologies to the automotive and consumer electronics market. 

 

Requirements:  

  • Degree or equivalent in Science, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Music Technology. 

  • Ability to understand requirements for audio and video technologies used in automotive applications. Demonstrable hands-on experience working with automotive electronics, consumer electronics, or silicon providers.   

  • Basic understanding of OTT/VoD standards, formats, and workflows is a plus. 

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential; written and verbal interactions with customers individually and in groups are a major part of the job.  

  • Willingness to travel (approx. 30% of the time on average), mostly within Europe, and a willingness to work outside normal office hours, when required.
