As leader of audio innovation, Dolby is involved in many standardization activities, such as MPEG, ITU-T, 3GPP and Bluetooth to name a few. You will be part of those efforts and you will create, test, and maintain software implementing and supporting those standards. This will enable you to engage with other world-class industry-experts on the matter of software engineering, software test, and everything that is related to it. The role includes the whole range from supporting the standardization efforts, implementation of those standards and their integration and testing. To be successful in this position, applicants need to be able to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities at the same time and keep a good overall view on interactions, requirements, and interdependencies. You will:

  • Create, test and maintain software related to standardization activities and Dolby products.
  • Organize software project efforts with internal and external development teams.
  • Cooperate with internal and external development and standardization teams worldwide.
  • Support business units in related development, testing and integration efforts.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or relevant commercial experience.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming for digital signal processing.
  • Experience with task automation using Python or another scripting languages.
  • Basic understanding of audio fundamentals and signal processing algorithms (filters, transforms).
  • Basic understanding of and experience in software quality assessment.
  • Good English communication skills (German skills are desirable but not required).
  • Able to work efficiently and effectively with different time zones and cultures.
  • Independent, self-motivated, proactive, and positive, focused on possibilities and solutions.

 

Nice to have:

  • Experience in audio standardization work, such as MPEG or 3GPP.
