Job Summary

 

As leader of audio innovation, Dolby is involved in many standardization activities, such as MPEG, 3GPP and Bluetooth to name a few. You will be part of those efforts and you will create, test, and maintain software implementing and supporting those standards. This will enable you to engage with other world-class industry-experts on the matter of software engineering, software test, project management and everything that is related to it. The role includes the whole range from supporting the standardization efforts, implementation of those standards and their integration and testing. To be successful in this position, applicants need to be able to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities at the same time and keep a good overall view on interactions, requirements, and interdependencies. You will:

  • Have a focus on testing and quality assessment of software projects.
  • Maintain software related to Dolby products.
  • Create, test and maintain software related to standardization activities.
  • Organize software project efforts with internal and external development teams.
  • Cooperate with internal and external development and standardization teams worldwide.
  • Support business units in related development, testing and integration efforts.

 

Knowledge & Skills

 

  • Programming in C/C++ for digital signal processing.
  • Understanding of audio codecs and technologies, such as xHE-AAC, MPEG-H 3D Audio or Dolby AC-4.
  • Deep understanding of and experience in software quality assessment.
  • B.SC./B.Eng. or M.Sc./M.Eng. in Software Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or similar.
  • Experience with the Scrum framework.  
  • Good English communication skills (German skills are desirable, but not required).
  • Independent, self-motivated, proactive, and positive, focused on possibilities and solutions.

 

Nice to have:

 

  • Working as Scrum Master and/or Product Owner.
  • Experience in audio standardization work, such as MPEG or 3GPP.
  • Good understanding of Dolby products in the audio domain.
  • Good presentation skills of technical ideas/solutions.
