Summary:

 

The Consumer Entertainment Development Team of Dolby Germany in Nuremberg is looking for a student worker to contribute to our consumer device testing product development including an internal stream generation framework. This framework, currently running on a Win7 OS platform, has to be transferred to Linux OS platform. Typical assignments are for example:

 

  • Linux OS setup and configuration,
  • VM setup and configuration,
  • Perl and Shell Script modifications,
  • Linux-based audio/video encoder & muxer usage,
  • Test Signal Generation with tools based on Linux and Windows (Cygwin) platforms using command line

Qualifications:

 

  • Student of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or similar
  • Experience in Affinity to Linux OS
  • Experience in Shell Scripting
  • Experience in scripting languages, e.g. Perl
  • Structured, self-organized and diligent working style
  • Ability to quickly ramp-up on and learn new technologies
  • Good Communication skills in English, written and verbally

 

 

Nice to have:

 

  • Experience with Cygwin
  • Experience with revision control systems, e.g. Git, Perforce
  • Some knowledge in audio/video media delivery systems (such as HbbTV, VideoOnDemand, DVB Transport Stream, ISOBMFF (mp4), mpeg-DASH, HLS, ATSC3)
