Job Summary

The Consumer Entertainment Development Team of Dolby Germany in Nuremberg is looking for a student worker to contribute to our consumer device testing product development and to support our test laboratories for cars and living rooms. Typical assignments are for example:

  • Setup test environments consisting of Hardware (Soundcards, loudspeaker, amplifier, etc.) 
    and Software for car and living room demos and prototypes,
  • Implement measurement tests for kit deliverables,
  • Support prototyping with embedded platforms,
  • Develop software tools to enable consumer device testing,
  • Prepare proof-of-concept implementations and set-ups for Car and Living room use cases,
  • Maintain Car and Living room Laboratories, 
  • Extend existing test automation platform for consumer device testing including controlling signal generators 
    and signal capture devices using a python-based automation framework

  • Student of Audio/Sound Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or similar
  • Experience in working with Hardware and belonging software in the field of audio 
    (for example sound setups or backstage activities)
  • Experience in Matlab
  • Experience in scripting language python
  • Experience in testing sound systems
  • Experience in setting up embedded HW platforms
  • Affinity to work with Car Entertainment and Consumer Smart Home devices
  • Good Communication skills in English, written and verbally


Nice to have:

  • Experience in/Affinity to Linux OS
  • Experience with testing of audio/video applications


Work Time

  • Minimum of 10h per week, ideally 20h per week


Start Date

  • June/July 2021



  • 6 months (extendable to 1 year)
