Our state-of-the-art technologies are deployed in a wide range of products such as mobile phones, set top boxes, TVs and professional broadcast encoders. 

 

As part of the internship in the QA department of Dolby Germany in Nuremberg, you will contribute to build and extend an in-house developed framework that allows us to connect and prototype various Dolby technologies. The environment provides us a visual canvas to prototype various use cases ranging from test case development to connecting different technology components for rapid prototyping purposes. As more of our daily work moves towards cloud-based infrastructure and a web browser-based environment, the QA department is also looking to enhance and improve its current tool set.

 

The internship is focused on extending and/or redesigning an existing proof of concept environment and will be broadly distributed into the following main areas: 

  • Conceptual and design work on how to expose functionality to an end user in a visually appealing manner. 
  • Extending and building out the current frontend canvas based on the concept
  • Adding building blocks to the backend to enhance functionality of the overall system to support the usability concept designed above.

 

The work will be performed in a collaborative team environment involving interaction with other internal groups in Dolby as well as potential customers of the technology.

 

 

 

Requirements:

  • Students currently in an advanced stage in either their bachelor’s or master’s programs in Computer Science and looking to gain exposure to cloud native tools and environments that are used in the industry.
  • Good programming experience in one of Python, JavaScript, React or similar programming languages is required.
  • Know how in using Docker is required.
  • Working experience with version control systems like Git is required.
  • Written and spoken English language skills are mandatory. German language is helpful.
  • Motivation and willingness to try out new technologies and ideas.

 

Nice to have:

  • An understanding of Kubernetes or other similar container orchestration systems.
  • Exposure to developing Graphical User Interfaces.
  • Familiarity with the Linux environment.
