SUMMARY

Dolby’s Legal group, located in the San Francisco Bay Area, is looking for an Intern to support the patent prosecution team. Understanding the current landscape of patented technology and applying for new patents is a critical driver of Dolby’s business.

 
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Legal internship position for assisting patent prosecution
  • Hands-on training regarding patent prosecution will be given
  • Experience with Excel and/or Google Sheets is a must
  • Intern will potentially have the ability to assist with invention disclosure and drafting patent prosecution documents

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Background in electrical engineering, physics, or computer science
  • The candidate should be excited to learn, be curious and also have an interest in the patent and legal field
  • Since interactions with business stakeholders and internal team members is a big part of this role, strong communications (written and verbal), and the ability to work well as part of a team, are key requirements for this role.
  • Any experience with optical technology is a plus

 

ELIGIBILITY

  • Working towards a Bachelor’s, Master’s degree, J.D. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or a related field; recent grads who are within 6 months of graduation are also eligible to apply
  • Must be available to work full-time Monday – Friday for 3 months between January 2022 – April 2022. The start date for this position is Monday, January 24, 2022. Please note the start date is not flexible.
