A Developer Advocate for Dolby will join an experienced and dynamic organization responsible for the growth and adoption of our award-winning Dolby.io APIs and SDKs.  To drive this grass-roots attention and preference for Dolby.io we need you to bring flexibility and speed to support the educational and technical needs of the broader developer community.  You will nurture credibility with developers, product managers, architects, entrepreneurs, and CTOs.

 

The ideal candidate will have project experience developing software and/or working with audio.  You love to share projects you are passionate about with others and exhibit good judgment in identifying opportunities to do so.

 

Responsibilities

  • Create compelling tutorials, white papers, and blog posts that are accurate, nuanced, authentic, and demonstrate kind written communication
  • Develop and maintain compelling sample projects that demonstrate product features with clean, clear, and concise open-source code examples
  • Drive awareness and adoption of Dolby.io through live streaming, webinars, training workshops, and recorded videos to share your knowledge
  • Gain industry recognition and credibility as an attendee, staff, panelist, or speaker at developer conferences, meetups, and other events
  • Provide technical support and maintenance for our developer tools, documentation, programs, and campaigns so that they can be relied upon by the broader organization
  • Maintain a strong and credible presence in developer communities and social media channels to be reachable by developers everywhere
  • Work with internal teams cross-functionally to give feedback on product road maps, developer marketing, user experience, and engineering requirements

 

Key requirements and attributes for successful applicants include:

  • Wide range of hands-on experience with software development, cloud computing, mobile application development, and popular programming languages in the broader development ecosystem
  • Superior oral and written communications skills for content creation and public speaking
  • Willingness to travel and when called upon to work irregular hours in support of global community conferences and events
  • Fluent and capable of engaging cooperatively and inclusively with software developers at all levels of experience to gain trust and respect for knowledge of the domain
  • Eager to learn new technologies, skills, and trends across the spectrum of software development techniques
  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or comparable experience
