This position provides strategic HR Business Partner consulting for Dolby’s largest Business Group – Entertainment.

This includes partnering with leaders /VP’s/Global People Business Partners to implement and execute people strategies that align with business strategies contributing to Dolby’s next phases of growth. The ideal candidate builds trusting relationships with leaders across the organization. Core goals of the position include providing strategic business leadership, leading efforts to enable our people to make the greatest impact and grow,  while driving the employee experiences where people can do their best work. Your work will be global, and you’ll be partnering closely with leaders with ambitious and complex goals. You’ll enable these goals through a talent, organizational and leadership people plan, working across the People and Places team to deliver quality services and initiatives.

 

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

  • Strategic HR Solutions: Translate business strategies, objectives and challenges into the appropriate HR actions and initiatives while interpreting which people enablers are necessary to deliver business results
  • Performance Architecture: Ensure organizations are structured for optimal performance and agility. Advise leaders around organizational design, leader development, people management, career development, and performance coaching
  • Trend Forecasting: Leverage workforce analytics and strategic planning to develop talent strategies that identify and solve business issues, help leaders to see around corners to address future trends and changes to the talent landscape
  • Change Leadership: Serve as an advisor to business leaders to build their capacity to effectively manage and lead through change
  • Future of workplace: Champion the roll out of Dolby’s flex work program, working closely with business leaders to scale and drive adoption of new mindsets and ways of working.  
  • Talent and Community Building: Build talent and relationships with formal and informal talent networks to cultivate growth in the organization. Act as champion and partners with COE’s in service of creating an amazing Dolby employee experience.
  • HR Services Brokering: Work in partnership with centers of excellence to deliver HR services across client areas. Ensure proper implementation and execution of HR programs and initiatives, including implementation of Dolby’s approach to performance and development, annual rewards planning, and employee survey results.
  • Talent Planning: Design the future talent roadmap for your business by identifying the pivotal skillsets, roles, and capabilities to achieve Dolby’s long-term strategy. Work in partnership with Global PBPs and talent CoE to design and execute various talent levers to acquire the skills of the future.Org effectiveness: Identify and act on opportunities to improve alignment between organizational strategy and people, process, culture, structure and systems.
  • Leadership Coaching: Strengthen the senior leadership team’s capacity and capability through coaching and counsel
  • Works with leaders and COE’s to create and build DIBS strategies within Dolby; utilizing multiple talent levers that foster an inclusive and diverse culture aligned to our Company vision, mission, and values

 

 Qualifications and Skills

 

  • 7-10 years’ experience or equivalent in HR business partnering role Business consulting and/or strategic planning in progressively increasing scope; experience in matrixed, highly complex global organizations a plus
  • Excellent oral/written communication; presentation skills; strong listening and coaching skills. Has the ability to synthesize and effectively communicate complex situations into a digestible format for business leaders
  • Systems thinker: Connects information, processes and events to provide unique insights into how Dolby HR can be strategically utilized by the client base. Understand and diagnose organizational issues
  • Influencer:  Build credible relationships with people throughout the organization to drive more effective outcomes for the business
  • Partnership: Builds trust by providing a strong and visible HR leadership presence with leaders, people managers and HR Teams. Partners with stakeholders for win-win.
  • Change leader: Anticipate the need for change, consult with clients on effective approaches to change, architect change plans and assist clients with leadership and execution
  • Team player: Leverage an extended group of Business Partners and People team members to successfully execute against talent, organizational and leadership plans that drive the business  
  • Data Driven: Use data to drive decision making and inform your actions and recommendations
  • Globally minded: Sensitive to cultural differences and takes unique approaches to collaborate and enage with global, cross-functional stakeholders

Education

 

  • BA/BS Required
  • MBA or MA in Human Resources or Organization Development/Psychology or equivalent preferred
