Based in the EMEA region’s newly established Dublin office, the EMEA Accounting Manager is responsible for the Financial Management of Dolby entities in the EMEA region, including internal and statutory reporting; and playing a key role within the broader regional teams. You lead a team of accountants to drive for results.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with the EMEA Finance Director, providing guidance and direction to our finance colleagues on statutory reporting, VAT, Government statistics, US GAAP and SOX compliance.
  • Approve and review of month end tasks from journals, balance sheet reconciliations to quarterly flux reports. Ensure our financial reporting is accurate with meaningful explanations and timely execution.
  • Act as the main point of contact with our local and country based external auditors. Planning the time, PBC preparation, audit fee negotiation, managing the process to final approval and filing of the Annual Reports. The countries involved are in Ireland, the UK, the Netherlands, France, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Dubai, and Germany. Coach and develop your team.
  • Lead to improve the quality in the accounting function, proactively suggest process improvements/additional controls through excellence initiatives
  • Manage the day to day operations in an effective manner while solving problems and adapting in a continuously changing environment.

Main Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other business related subject.
  • At least 10 years of experience in European Statutory accounting in one or more countries that Dolby operates
  • 5 years of experience in working at a manager level within a shared service center.
  • Proficiency in US GAAP, IFRS, statutory requirements and VAT for certain countries including Sweden, France, and Poland will be a definite plus
  • Experience in team management and coaching including appraisals and performance reviews.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of ERP systems preferably SAP.
  • Proven ability to prioritize activities and manage workload in a complex fast-paced environment with strict deadlines
  • Clear and effective communication skills and a team player with a customer-oriented approach
  • Self-starter with hands-on work-style, strong work ethic and can-do attitude
  • Driver for change with great planning abilities and effective leadership skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
