The Sound Tech Research team is looking for a talented, self-motivated tonmeister/music technology/sound designer student to explore a range of content creation paradigms, including linear production, interactive and game engine approaches; make recordings and mixes for a variety of experiments and analyses on a range of genre, including sports, music and movies.



  • Work on a wide range of content creation methods, with an emphasis towards interactive content creation use cases
  • Work with researchers on understanding the content from various points of view, including analytical listening and running objective analysis
  • Present the conducted work to the sound technology research team at the end of internship
  • Document work and results in a well-organized way



  • Solid education on audio content recording and creation
  • Passionate about sound and sound technologies
  • Familiarity with audio tools used in game engines
  • Good recording and mixing skills, familiar with popular DAWs
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • C/C++ language, Matlab, or Python programming skills would be an advantage



  • Working towards a Tonmeister degree or a degree in Music Technology or a related field; recent grads who are within 1 year of graduation are also eligible to apply
  • Must be available to work full-time Monday–Friday for 12 months between May/June 2021 –May/June 2022.
  • Start dates for the internship are as follows: (*note* these dates are not flexible):
    • Monday, May 24, 2021
    • Monday, June 14, 2021
    • Monday, June 21, 2021
  • COVID UPDATE: This internship will be remote until further notice. Should conditions change, and we can safely allow employees to return to our campuses, there is a possibility of returning to onsite work.
