As part of the continued evolution of our games strategy, the Game Developer Relations Leader role provides strategic games industry consulting to Dolby's Business Leadership Team and converts strategy to action with a team of six Game Developer Relations staff, worldwide.


Reporting to the Developer Relations Vice President, this role is key to the Games team. You will partner with local leaders and global colleagues to align Game Developer Relations tactics with Dolby's game-related strategies contributing to the next phases of growth. This role builds trusting relationships with internal business leaders and external studios and publishers.


As Game Developer Relations Leader, you will represent the game development community to key executives and business partners, and be able to formulate action plans based on the business needs and goals of Dolby's Consumer Entertainment Group. You will champion Dolby gaming innovations with developers ranging from indie to AAA while also using the feedback you gather to help influence Dolby’s product roadmap and strategy. Your strong influencing skills, credibility with and empathy for game developers and ability to think beyond the day to day are more important than your knowledge of the most popular title of the day. 


Your core goals include providing strategic guidance to business leadership on how to best delight our game studio partners, then put those plans into action with a globally distributed team.


Primary Responsibilities

  • As the leader of the game developer relations team, you own and drive the creation and delivery of the game developer outreach plan as a whole
  • Create and validate project’s resource requirements, schedules and milestone plans
  • Define the deliverables associated with game studios
  • Provide regular status reporting and plan updates to the Business Leadership Team and other core stakeholders.
  • Hold your own against all challengers in Halo or your game of choice
  • Work cross functionality across Dolby with account managers and others to develop deep partnerships with game developers, studios, and publishers.
  • Actively create and improve work methods and best practices to drive team efficiency
  • Identify resource requirements and expectations
  • Identify risks or constraints, and troubleshoot dependency problems
  • Ensure plan scope and the quality expectations are met


Qualifications and Skills

  • 10 years of experience in technology product or marketing, or developer relations/evangelism
  • Strong games business acumen and comfort when working with leaders 
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills
  • Excellent presentation skills;
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Proven ability to drive feature and technology adoption among developers
  • Demonstrated ability to earn trust with both internal peers and external partners
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
