The Strategic Planning & Insights Team (SP&I) at Dolby, lives within Global Marketing and is at the forefront of key initiatives to uncover core consumer truths to inform future products & experiences, develop brand and product strategies, and help evaluate new partnerships. These initiatives require a data-driven and strategic minded individual to help support SP&I’s state-of-the art research and analytics activities. We are looking for someone who is interested in the entertainment consumer, and passionate about understanding their motivations for brand and product engagement. You are an out-of-the-box thinker, with a high level of curiosity and drive to uncover actionable insights that matter. This role is a critical part ofevolving how Dolby thinks about and markets to consumers, translating insight-driven learning into actionable strategic guidance that will drive brand and revenue growth.


As an intern with the SP&I team, you’ll join a world-class insights, analytics, and brand planning function at Dolby. Our team partners with key stakeholders across the company, including the broader marketing organziationand business groups across the brand portfolio and geos, to develop new ways to illuminate meaningful insights, translate insights into actionable strategic recommendations and provide a deep understanding of consumers/customers globally. You will have opportunities to work on projects that touch every aspect of our business, helping to uncover insights and drive strategy to inform decision-making in a variety of areas including cinema, home, music, gaming, mobile and business conferencing.



  • Partner with cross-funtional teams to build measurable campaign goals, KPIs and benchmarking methodology
  • Support web analytics to provide actionable insights that will inform site development/optimization
  • Work directly with Global teams and external agencies to collect & analyze campaign data and provide meaningful insights for optimization and future planning
  • Support social listening projects across monitoring social conversations, analyzing data and drafting reports with actionable insights
  • Collaborate with internal marketing and business partners to understand goals and needs
  • Help to craft stories that present learnings in a visual format with a compelling message
  • Assist team members to leverage existing data sources to uncover key truths



  • Solid career interest and passion in marketing, marketing analytics, data sciencesProficient in Google Analytics and platform analytics tools (e.g. Facebook/Twitter/LinkedIn/YouTube analytics)
  • Understanding of measurement and analytic metrics of Socialmedia, Paid Media, Web Analytics
  • Previous jobs or internships in marketing, marketing analytics, insights, media agency a plus
  • High proficiency in Power Point and Excel (report writing and chart/tables/pivot tables creation), with some experience using statistical software programs a plus
  • Quick learner with a can-do attitude and able to complete tasks with little supervision
  • Solid interpersonal, collaboration, presentation, written and oral communication skills
  • High attention to detail, organized, and a resourceful team player
  • Curiosity, passion, enthusiasm, and a sense of humor
  • Strong personal interest in technology, entertainment, cinema, episodic TV content, music, gaming a plus



  • Working towards a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Market Research, Marketing Analytics, Business, Statistics, Social Sciences or a related field; recent grads who are within 1 year of graduation are also eligible to apply
  • Must be available to work full-time Monday–Friday for 3-months between May/June 2021–August/September 2021.
  • Start dates for the internship are as follows: (*note* these dates are not flexible)
    • Monday, May 24, 2021
    • Monday, June 14, 2021
    • Monday, June 21, 2021
  • COVID UPDATE: This internship will be remote until further notice. Should conditions change, and we can safely allow employees to return to our campuses, there is a possibility of returning to onsite work.
