SUMMARY
Dolby leads the development of revolutionary media experiences and we're passionate about understanding humans and what moves them. Our design team takes a user-centered design approach to developing audio and visual experiences in the realms of music, voice, cinema, tv, sports and games. We are looking for a passionate, energetic design intern to join our design team in San Francisco. You'll be involved with user research and UX design on a mobile product for musicians.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contributing to the interaction design for one or more of our products related to music, voice, audio or video
  • Recruiting users and researching how they interact with media devices such as headphones, conference phones, video systems and music equipment
  • Conducting user testing and synthesizing the research into data that informs our design strategy
  • Helping to refine our design processes, tools and documentation bringing them to the wider community at Dolby 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong analytical abilities with clear communication verbally and in writing 
  • Adaptable and efficient in the way you work with a thirst for learning
  • Familiarity with aspects of music or audio/video production is a plus. Including performing, composing, recording, editing, producing, streaming, podcasting, filming, video editing, vlogging, distribution, promotion, social media.
  • Strong experience with state of the art design tools like Sketch, Figma, Zeplin and Adobe and prototyping tools like Invision, Protopie, Principle, Framer
  • A strong UX portfolio with detailed and documented wireframes, organized and insightful research, clear and compelling presentation. Please be clear about your role and the problem you solved

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • As you will collaborate with and may participate in other design disciplines, please highlight your experience/skills with other areas including 3D physical design, visual design, branding, packaging, motion design, video production, sound design, event and retail environmental design and industrial design – these are a big plus.

 

ELIGIBILITY

  • All candidates should include a link to their portfolio or provide work samples as part of the application process. Please indicate your role and contribution for each project submitted
  • Working towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in UX Design, Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Library Science, Cognitive Psychology, Marketing, Product Management, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Due to COVID-19, recent grads who are within 1 year of graduation are also eligible to apply
  • Must be available to work remotely and full-time Monday – Friday for 3 months between January 2021 - April 2021
