Job Summary

The GL Manager will report to the Sr. Accounting Manager and will work closely with the Corporate Accounting team in San Francisco. To be successful in this role, you must have strong knowledge of GAAP and the ability to operate effectively in a rapidly scaling, dynamic environment. You should have the ability to interact effectively with cross functional teams, including Finance, HR, Payroll and Benefits, Treasury, AP, AR, Internal Audit, Revenue, and IT.


Job Functions

  • Supervise two GL accountants
  • Responsible for day to day fixed asset management and long-term assets reporting
  • Review and approve month-end journal entries related to cash, intercompany, other assets and other liabilities, accruals
  • Review Balance Sheet account reconciliations
  • Manage and lead world-wide corporate analytical review procedures
  • Collaborate with different functional teams to continue to develop world class finance and accounting processes and actively contribute to a highly disciplined financial statement close
  • Provide timely and accurate accounting information to internal customers on ad hoc basis
  • Maintain process documentation and ensure SOX 404 compliance for Corporate functional area
  • Assist in implementations of new policies and procedures
  • Assist with GL related projects as assigned


Skills and Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting or related, CPA preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of corporate accounting, month-end close, and reconciliation experience in an ERP environment (SAP experience preferred)
  • Strong people management skills
  • Strong financial analytical skills with a strong ability to identify incongruities and anomalies in balances
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel)
  • Excellent oral, written, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies
