Job Summary

We are seeking an Associate Financial Reporting Analyst who wants to build the foundation for their careers with the Dolby Finance team. The Associate Financial Reporting Analyst will assist in the preparation and analysis of Dolby’s external financial reporting in compliance with applicable regulations (i.e. SEC rules & regulations, GAAP, etc.), preparation of Dolby’s accounting for stock-based compensation, and preparation of deliverables requested by our external auditors to complete quarterly reviews and annual audits. The Associate Financial Reporting Analyst will also support investor relations with analysis and research efforts.

 

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the quarter-end close process for the 10-K/Q and 8-K filings in accordance with SEC guidelines in a timely and accurate manner according to GAAP
  • Prepare press release-related deliverables as needed in anticipation for the quarterly earnings call
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and quarterly audit deliverables related to stock-based compensation, earnings per share, and other equity accounting areas
  • Assist in the identification and resolution of US GAAP and SEC reporting issues and assess the impact on SEC filing disclosures
  • Support Investor Relations team as needed with investor engagement activities, including preparing materials for investor meetings and conferences
  • Perform research, both accounting and investor relations-related, on an as needed basis
  • Assist in reviewing external analyst reports, consensus tracking, and working with financial models
  • Analyze financial data, summarize, and provide a concise and meaningful narrative discussion of variances for quarterly reporting, ad hoc analysis, and key management reporting deliverable
  • Proactively identify system and process improvements to drive efficiency and effectiveness and propose solutions to complex/ambiguous problems
  • Establish active and effective communication with senior members of the Finance

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Accounting, with a strong GPA
  • Relevant work experience a plus, such as public accounting or industry experience
  • Ability to prioritize activities and manage workload in a complex fast-paced environment with strict deadlines
  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial statements and related underlying accounting transactions
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret research findings with excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, identifying trends, interpreting data, and translating into actionable information
  • Strong desire to solve problems and enthusiastic about learning
  • Strong written, oral, and presentation communication skills. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial theory
  • Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other analytical applications (e.g., SAP) a plus
  • Team-oriented and interpersonal skills (ability to collaborate cross functionally)
  • Strong attention to detail
