SUMMARY
As an Audio Systems Engineer Intern for the Dolby development group, you will primarily focus on system testing that enables the next generation of Dolby technologies. You will help design, specify, craft, and maintain the System test environment as well as design, write and execute tests in Python using the pytest framework.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Contribute to the design and documentation of customer-facing system-level tests which verify proper integration of Dolby technologies into living room entertainment products such as televisions, soundbars, smart speakers, etc.
• Collaborate with a team designing and documenting customer-facing tests and test tools which measure the acoustic performance of consumer entertainment products that include premium Dolby technologies.
• Contribute to porting system tests to an automation framework that our partners will use to validate proper integration of Dolby technologies into living room entertainment products.
• Assist in prototyping audio subsystems used to identify and understand system development challenges and to develop solutions/guidance included in system development kits.
• We'll depend on you for setup, configuration, and maintenance of labs and test environments.

 

QUALIFICATIONS
• Understanding of DSP as applied to audio processing.
• Ability to perform basic programming and modification of software code
• Familiarity with Python and Matlab
• Knowledge of Acoustics is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to achieve results, meet deadlines, and adjust to quickly changing
priorities in a fast-paced engineering environment.

ELIGIBILITY
Working towards a Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related
field; recent grads who are within 6 months of graduation are also eligible to apply.
Must be available to work full-time Monday–Friday for 3 months starting from
May/June 2023.

The San Francisco/Bay Area base hourly range for this internship position is $45-50 and can vary if outside of this location. Our hourly ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
