About the Role
We’re looking for a strategic and high-performing intern to join our Communications and Marketing team, which is charged with supporting the goals of the business and for raising our profile through social media, earned media, events, paid digital campaigns, event sponsorships, and a lot more. Above all, your work will elevate how Via LA contributes to a collaborative patent licensing ecosystem that will further accelerate technology adoption across various devices and categories.
Reporting directly to Via LA’s Head of Communications and Marketing, this role will:

Work with the team to develop internal and external marketing communication strategies

Allocate significant time to supporting major Via LA events throughout the year

Contribute to the development of social media content and strategies (including paid campaigns) to further boost Via LA’s visibility online

Support marketing campaigns for specific Via LA programs

Contribute to earned media efforts within the organization and support engagement with members of the media

Support the development of presentations and other communications material

Conduct research as needed in support of Via LA’s communications and marketing initiatives and events
Qualifications

Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities

Keen ability to balance the need to follow direction while finding opportunities to offer creative new ideas and solutions

Strong attention to detail and deadlines

Comfort working with senior executives

Ability to facilitate cross functional projects across multiple stakeholders

Ability to work independently with self-awareness to know when to ask for guidance from team

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to create and deliver compelling presentations

Experience with MS Office applications

Knowledge and passion of event management a plus

Design skills a plus, though not required

Interest in and willingness to experiment with new tools and technologies to generate faster and better outcomes for the team and organization

Eligibility
We are considering those working toward an undergrad degree or MBA; recent graduates who are within 6 months of graduation will also be given equal consideration. Some in-office days will be required each week. Must be available to work full time, Monday - Friday, from September 2025 - March 2026.

The San Francisco/Bay Area base hourly range for this internship position is $32-44/hr and can vary if outside of this location. Our hourly ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific hourly range and perks and benefits for your location during the hiring process.
