What you will do:

Dolby Cloud Solutions, is at the forefront of innovation in the streaming industry, delivering high-quality, immersive experiences to audiences worldwide. We have a full suite of cutting-edge products including

  • THEOplayer: a leading cross-platform video player enabling media and entertainment companies worldwide to deliver advanced video experiences, efficiently, and across all devices. It supports all standard delivery formats and works on all major playback platforms.
  • Dolby Millicast: an ultra-low latency real-time streaming technology that delivers seamless, synchronized viewer experiences with less than half a second of latency. Dolby Millicast is now integrated and available as part of THEOplayer.
  • THEOlive: a very-low latency live streaming technology that delivers high-quality, live streaming at scale to massive audiences with minimal latency.
  • THEOads: this pioneering ad insertion capability improves the quality, flexibility, and targeting of advertising within THEOplayer. Our server-guided ad insertion (SGAI), leverage the benefits of and the full intelligence and capabilities of THEOplayer to maximize viewer engagement with personalized, non-intrusive ads resulting in increased monetization opportunities and more efficient use of ad inventory.

We are seeking a dedicated Director to manage the Product Owners to drive the delivery of cloud-based media streaming technologies that elevate media quality and provide unique insights that only Dolby can offer. This role sits at the intersection of art and science, focusing on driving the development of a platform for media processing.  At Dolby, you'll work alongside creative and technical professionals who share your passion for audio and video excellence.

The Product Owners in the feature team will report into you. You will be responsible for mentoring and guiding to product owners across multiple feature teams, enhancing their skills in backlog management, prioritization, and stakeholder engagement while at the same time ensuring the product vision and strategic objectives are well communicated and understood by all Product Owners and their respective teams

  • Have experience delivering cloud-based streaming products to developers
  • Understand what is essential to create a best-in-class customer experience
  • Are passionate about audio and video technologies and enabling the developer community to craft exceptional experiences
  • Possess a solid working knowledge of media capture, composition, and delivery processes
  • Enjoy engaging with customers to understand their problems and identify solutions
  • Are an excellent written and verbal communicator
  • Can effortlessly synthesize strong requirements and drive them to completion
  • Can partner cross-functionally to ensure organizational alignment
  • Know how to motivate, coach and drive engineering teams to deliver results

 

Requirements:

  • Have a solid working knowledge of the steps in Media Capture, Composition, and delivery as well as the practices in product management and backlog prioritization
  • Love talking to customers to learn about their problems and how to solve them
  • You’re a great written and verbal communicator with the ability to engage and align diverse stakeholders
  • 5+ years of experience managing products
  • Experience working with global, matrixed teams

The San Francisco/Bay Area base salary range for this full-time position is $206,100 - $283,500, which can vary if outside this location, plus bonus, benefits, and some roles may also include equity. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range and perks and benefits for your location during the hiring process.
