RESPONSIBILITIES
You will be contributing to the design, analysis, prototyping, and evaluation of analog and mixed-signal circuits, platforms, and systems focused on delivering high-performance audio. With mentoring help from acoustic, mechanical, DSP, and senior electrical engineers, you will support and contribute to the development and demonstration of new and innovative hardware technologies, and work with our consumer electronics partners to integrate them into new product offerings.

You may be involved with the following efforts:
• Evaluate potential components (ICs) and modules for integration into new designs.
• Establish circuit level architectures for new circuit designs.
• Simulate and analyze new circuit topologies for use within audio electronics, loudspeakers, and power conversion devices.
• Validate circuit operation in the lab using test equipment and automated software tests.
• Work and communicate well with other hardware and software engineers as part of a larger team for more complex projects.

 

QUALIFICATIONS
• Working towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and/or or a related field. Recent grads who are within 6 months of graduation are also eligible to apply.
• Available to work full time Monday through Friday.
• Some experience with use of oscilloscopes, function generators, sound interfaces and digital audio workstations.
• Ability to solder and prototype simple circuits.
• Basic understanding of the physics of sound.
• Basic understanding of digital signal processing.
• Strong and clear interpersonal and communication skills.

 

NICE TO HAVE:
Exposure to some of the below is welcome:
• Circuit simulation with LTSpice or equivalent.
• Schematic and board design using Mentor Xpedition, Cadence OrCAD, Altium or equivalent.
• Python or Matlab coding for measurement or analysis

• Class D amplifier experience.

• Digital audio formats (I2S/TDM, PDM, SPDIF, Dante) and control buses (I2C,
SPI, UART).
• Audio test & measurement equipment (Audio Precision, Sound Check,
Klippel).

ELIGIBILITY:
Working towards a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field; recent grads within 6 months of graduation are eligible to apply. Must be available to work full-time Monday–Friday for 3 months starting from May/June 2023.

The San Francisco/Bay Area base hourly range for this internship position is $34-39/hr and can vary if outside of this location. Our hourly ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific hourly range and perks and benefits for your location during the hiring process.
