The Americas Commercial Partnerships team is looking for a passionate intern interested in systems engineering.  Learning about and integrating Dolby’s latest audio technologies  

In this role, you will work alongside the field engineering team learning how to champion and execute the integration of the latest Dolby technologies and playback SDK’s (System Development kits).  

The ideal candidate should have some experience with app integration and/or audio tuning.  

 

Essential Job Functions: 

As an intern you will learn to interact with the Commercial Partnership partners, licenses, and platform partners and to conduct the business of technology using a diplomatic, professional, and service-oriented approach.  

You will learn how to Interface with Dolby Engineering and Marketing to provide input and suggestions for new products and features, based on customer needs and competitive information. Leverage customer meetings to gather intelligence about customers’ product plans, product requirements, competitive offering and approaches and share data with relevant internal Dolby teams.  

 

Requirements: 

  • Working towards a BSEE or similar (Physics, Engineering Technology, Mathematics, Computer Science, etc.)  Experience with Android very desirable.  

  • Experience coding in C and/or C++. Expertise with one or more scripting languages (PERL, Python, BASH, etc.) is expected. 

  • Experience working with streaming technologies and protocols including DASH, HLS, HEVC, MPEG-DASH, MP4 containers and ASF is very helpful  

  • Experience should include exposure to Digital Signal Processing and any of the following is good to have: 

  • Software development 

  • Audio system integration and tuning 

  • App development 

  • Streaming Media or mobile development experience 

  • Android and Android TV 

  • Audio Codec experience 

  • Audio tuning experience  

  • Working knowledge of system development kits 

  • System engineering and integration 

  • Technology licensing 

  • Testing professional electronic products 

 

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, team building skills, plus strong work, and business ethics. 

Self-motivated, self-assured person with aptitude to interface with personnel from highest to lowest levels of customer engineering organizations

ELIGIBILITY 

Working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field; recent grads who are within 6 months of graduation are also eligible to apply. Must be available to work full-time Monday–Friday for 6 months starting from May/June 2023.  

Start date for the internship is as follows: (*note* this date is not flexible)  

  • Monday, May 22, 2023  

  • Monday, June 5, 2023  

  • Monday, June 19, 2023 

 

The San Francisco/Bay Area base hourly range for this internship position is $31 - $36 depending on education level and can vary if outside of this location. Our hourly ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific hourly range and perks and benefits for your location during the hiring process.
