Overview:   

As a Info Development & Production Intern based in our CA office, you support technical writers in delivering Dolby Customer content for Dolby product releases. You support member of the Tech Comms team that works across all Dolby business lines. You engage team members in Information Development, Publishing Engineering, and Dolby Customer to enable Tech Comms to deliver instruction on Dolby products that are changing the way the world sees visual content on screens.  

  

About you:  

You may be just the right fit for this internship if you can:  

  • Understand the principles of DITA and shared content 

  • Work independently on multiple projects with key contributors in multiple locations  

  • Engage with the Publishing Engineering team delivering cutting-edge technology  

  • Adhere to standards across the Tech Comms team  

  

We are looking for:  

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills 

  • Understanding of basic grammar rules  

  • Strong MS Word skills 

  • Experience in Visual Design tools 

  • Interest in audio/video processing and/or distribution, silicon, or similar technologies 

  • Understanding of XML publishing processes (a plus)  

  • Understanding git/gitlab/github version control (a plus) 

  • Experience/skills/coursework in: (a plus) 

  • Programming languages  

  • Audio/video codecs and production  

  • UX design  

  • Broadcast and Internet delivery technologies  

  • XSLT, XSL-FO, OT, HTML, and CSS  

  • Tech Comms content development and production tools  

  • Localization and internationalization of technical communications and software/hardware UIs  

  • Issue tracking and collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence  

  • Version control software such as Git and Perforce

ELIGIBILITY 

Working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, or a related field; recent grads who are within 6 months of graduation are also eligible to apply. Must be available to work full-time Monday – Friday for 3 months between January 2023 - April 2023.  

 

Start date for the internship is as follows: (*note* this date is not flexible)  

  • Monday, January 30, 2023
