RESPONSIBILITIES 

The Legal Intern will assist with a variety of legal projects, which are expected to include: 

• legal research on licensing and patent infringement/enforcement issues 
• analyses of the patent litigation landscape and litigation prep
• assisting with license compliance matters
• assisting business in understanding contractual requirements and applicable legal landscape
• developing and implementing improved policies and processes for the legal department

QUALIFICATIONS 

• Strong interest in patents and intellectual property law 
• Exceptional written and verbal communications skills 
• Attention to detail 
• Positive and professional attitude, including dependability and timeliness
• Ability to research legal and business issues and learn new concepts quickly 
• Experience with online research tools, as well as Westlaw, Lexis/Nexis, and Bloomberg

ELIGIBILITY 

Working towards a graduate law degree (JD or LLM) at an accredited law school with a strong academic record; recent grads who are within 6 months of graduation are also eligible to apply 

Must be available to work full-time Monday–Friday for 6 months starting from September 22, 2025.

This position is based in Via LA’s San Francisco office and has a hybrid work schedule, with in-person days on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The San Francisco/Bay Area base hourly range for this internship position is $[ ]/hr. Our hourly ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
