Dolby is seeking a best-of-breed product manager to lead the global development team that builds software development kits and products that enable creative professionals to produce Dolby Atmos content. As Product Manager, you will be responsible for a portfolio of high profile SDKs and products used in both Dolby solutions and in industry-leading digital audio workstations and video editing applications, for both post production and music workflows.  In this role, you will be the voice of the customer, synthesizing feature requests and business requirements into solutions for Dolby Atmos content creators. You will interact with stakeholders across multiple disciplines and geographies including engineering, marketing, legal, program management, and sales. You will also have regular exposure to external customers and partners. The ideal candidate should have a passion for audio, along with the ability to work both collaboratively and with a high degree of autonomy. You have the capacity to go deep with engineering when required but understand that your real value is your business acumen and strategic thinking in order to make tough priority decisions. The position reports to the Sr. Product Manager, Content Creation and can be based in either San Francisco or Barcelona.

 

Scope and Responsibilities:

 

  • Product Owner for one or more scrum teams; includes defining requirements, prioritizing the product backlog, and aligning your team to execute it
  • Cradle to grave product management responsibility for multiple products and SDKs
  • Work closely with partners who are integrating Dolby Atmos technology into their products to evangelize Dolby technologies, gather requirements, align roadmaps, and prioritize features
  • Conduct market research and be a key contributor to the overall strategy and roadmap for Dolby Atmos content creation
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other Dolby teams to track multiple upstream and downstream dependencies and ensure successful delivery of planned products

 

Requirements:

 

  • 3-5 years of audio product management experience, or equivalent
  • Expert knowledge of at least one digital audio workstation or non-linear video editing application
  • Experience with software development kits, APIs, or command-line interfaces
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to groups of colleagues or customers
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
  • English technical language proficiency

 

Desired:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or audio engineering
  • Proficiency with audio and video standards such as BWAV, MXF, and IMF
  • Experience developing and managing 3rd party partnerships
  • Experience working in an agile software development environment
