This role is part of a small, versatile team that is responsible for transforming and modernizing how Dolby operates.  The team’s mission is to create environments where people and teams can do their best work.  We do this by doing user research to understand the root operational problems and then designing and deploying solutions based on the latest science on organizational effectiveness and industry best practices.  Our solutions consist of processes, workflows, team and role structures, tools and applications, and cultural changes.  Our operational solutions are targeted primarily for Dolby's largest business group, Consumer Entertainment, and then often get adopted across Dolby.


The team is able to dive into any domain that needs attention.  We have taken on a wide range of projects in areas such as goal setting, business strategy, product life cycle, innovation, decision making, team effectiveness, team networks, and diverse hiring.


This role leads and drives operational initiatives and projects from start to finish.  This includes discovery work to understand the problems and needs of the people and teams, development work to build and test solutions, and deployment work to establish and operationalize the solution in Dolby.




  • Project Leadership
    • Collaborate with Team Leader to define a vision for operational change
    • Get buy-in for change from leadership and other stakeholders
    • Inspire others to build and bring about the change
  • Project Management
    • Drive overall execution of the project throughout its life cycle
    • Define project objectives and metrics and a plan for achieving them
    • Establish healthy, collaborative project team environment
  • Discovery
    • Conduct user research to understand problems and needs and source solutions
    • Articulate clear problem / need statements
    • Prioritize problems and needs
  • Development
    • Research industry state of the art and best practices to inspire solutions
    • Customize solutions to work in Dolby
    • Conduct rapid prototyping and test cycles with users to iterate toward a solution
    • Develop processes, tools, workflows, data structures, portals, etc. to enable solutions  
  • Deployment
    • Communicate solutions and changes to target users
    • Conduct campaigns, trainings, workshops, etc. to drive awareness and adoption
    • Evangelize solutions and recruit others to evangelize




  • Analytical; systematically gathers information and asks questions to sort through complex issues before solving, able to ideate, innovate and design polished solutions
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal, including writing for developing content and public speaking/presenting experience
  • Project management experience, effectively manages plans, people, operations, and resources to deliver on goals
  • Customer focused, solicits opinions and performance feedback from customers, and uses that information/data to improve products/services/processes
  • Enthusiastically takes on new projects, responsibilities and challenges
