We are looking for a passionate and tenured product manager to help create the next generation of Dolby’s audio solutions for connected, voice-first smart devices and use cases.


This role is for the product management representative on a team that oversees the development of a group of reusable audio technologies that will be used by multiple Dolby customer-facing solutions. The group of technologies form a “technology platform” to support integrated audio playback and audio capture applications for groups of smart devices (smart speakers, smart TVs, and similar products).


The successful candidate will be passionate about exploring new entertainment use cases and experiences and brining those to market.


Essential Job Functions

  • Develops the vision for the technology platform and the strategy for how to make the vision a reality.
  • Engages Dolby’s customers and partners to understand market trends and needs. Gathers and synthesizes market needs across multiple product areas and translates those needs into high-level product requirements.
  • Breaks down the overall work of the platform into discrete technology components and helps setup teams to work on the individual components.
  • Collaborates with the technical leads of each of the platform teams on the definition of platform components.
  • Develops and owns the platform product roadmap.
  • Works as part of the Platform Leadership Team to ensure the current work of the platform is on-track and helps with issue resolution.
  • Leads the exploration of new areas for the platform to consider creating deliverables for.
  • Provides guidance to Dolby’s Advanced Technology Group (ATG) on ongoing and future areas of research.
  • Evangelizes potential new business opportunities and business models that leverage the platform to the owners of different business segments within Dolby.


Knowledge, Skills, Experience, and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science. An MBA is desirable but not required.
  • Minimum of 7 years in technical product management.
  • Strong leadership, oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills. Must be able to communicate and build support for ideas and plans across a variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize the market and competitive landscape and create a winning product strategy to address the target use cases.
  • Knowledge areas:
    • The consumer electronics industry and the specific market dynamics of living room CE devices including TV, home theater, DMA, smart speaker, and similar products.
    • Audio capture technologies (noise and echo management, beam forming, wake word, etc.).
    • Smart home ecosystems (e.g., Amazon Alexa and Google Virtual Assistant).
  • Passion for creating great entertainment experiences.
