To get there, we need an experienced Senior Audio Engineer to join the Consumer Entertainment engineering team and help us craft audio systems and devices that will enable the next generation of entertainment technologies. You are an experienced transducer engineer with a broad skill set in audio systems. You will be a system-level problem solver and contribute to innovative concepts.


Responsibilities:

  • Simulate and test acoustic systems and generate appropriate device and transducer architectures to support performance requirements.
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team including mechanical, electrical, firmware and acoustic engineers, to design robust audio capture and playback systems
  • Build, measure, and evaluate prototypes to demonstrate acoustic designs
  • Research and develop new ideas in acoustic system architecture, including microphone and transducer designs and integrations
  • Perform competitive product analysis and benchmarking
  • Partner with our customers to integrate Dolby technology on next generation devices
  • Tune audio systems and devices.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS/MS in Acoustics, or Electrical Engineering, physics, or equivalent
  • 4+ years of experience in the design and development of audio systems in the consumer market
  • Experience designing and modeling transducers and enclosures
  • Experience with simulation and modeling tools, such as COMSOL, ANSYS, MATLAB/Simulink
  • Understanding of transducer and speaker system manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency using loudspeaker design tools such as LEAP, LspCAD, AkAbak, Micro-Cap
  • Experience with loudspeaker test equipment such as Klippel, AP, Clio, SoundCheck
  • Understands amplifier operation and designing integrated active speaker systems
  • Experience with DSP tuning practices
  • Solid written, verbal, and technical language proficiency
  • Some experience with programming/ scripting languages such as Python or C++
