As a Sr. DevOps Engineer you will be responsible for service monitoring, operational cost analysis and optimization, capacity planning, configuration management, and service escalation response. You are expected to prioritize well, communicate effectively, have a consistent track record of delivery, and excellent cloud operations management skills. You are an experienced engineer that brings high-quality technical solutions and a mindset of continual service improvement.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Partner with engineering teams to build, deploy and monitor a reliable and scalable cloud service
  • Identify potential security and operational issues and work with engineering teams to fix
  • Continued improvements to infrastructure and code to ensure a reliable service and quickly address any production issues
  • Perform root cause analysis for production issues where the root cause is in infrastructure, environment, configuration, or deployment routines; understand when to escalate to product development teams; remediate root causes and implement preventative actions.
  • Identify cost hotspots, work with the product development team to find solutions for cost optimization. Help to build the process for operations cost management.
  • Support development teams in the delivery of continuous integration, continuous deployment, providing templates and patterns to follow to ensure code produced by development teams can be deployed and scaled on standardized technologies and platforms.
  • Participate in Change Management activities which include reviews, approvals, rollback plans, and live operations transition.
  • Actively collaborate with the product, engineering, and QA teams to build automated testing and monitoring of deployments.



B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering or comparable 

5+ years professional experience 

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong knowledge and experience in several of the following:

  • Automation of AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Working with CloudFormation and other Infrastructure as code tooling
  • Development of scripts and tools in Python
  • Docker or other container technologies
  • Solid GIT repositories skills
  • Strong data analysis skills with prior experience in capacity planning and cloud operations cost optimization


Nice to have experience with the following:

  • Serverless technologies such as Lambda
  • Kubernetes
  • SOC2
  • JavaScript (Node.js)
