The position is responsible for testing Dolby software and hardware products that enable the next generation of Dolby technologies. The employee is responsible for leading QA projects through the production and analysis of product technical documentation to plan, design, develop, execute tests and report results. The position requires the candidate to be proficient in a scripting language for automation and to be able to identify and plan for required automation tools.


• Understand and conform to QA standards and processes.
• Conduct early project scoping in collaboration with project and development teams.
• Review proposed technologies, develop test strategies and contribute proposals for testability.
• Provide input to project leadership tasks including project and planning, task
allocation, test progress tracking.
• Help coach and develop fellow team members.
• Lead test planning including test design, test coverage, test approach, risk assessment and reporting 
• Design and implement new test methods to address next generation capabilities in Dolby products.
• Design, set up, configure and maintain software testing labs and environments.
• Utilize and adapt existing test automation tools.
• Design and develop new automation tools.
• Report issues through a formal bug tracking system and work with the engineering team to help 
isolate, debug and resolve issues/bugs.
• Participate in bug review meetings and analyze bug status data and metrics.
• Represent QA as a member of the project teams.
• Stay abreast of industry software testing tools and best practices and make significant contributions 
to the development and deployment of new test technologies, tools or methods.


• Minimum BSc degree in science or engineering;
• 3+ years’ experience working as software or software test engineer or equivalent;
• 1+ years’ experience working with multimedia, communications or DSP and coding technologies;
• Demonstrable experience in test planning, test design and test reporting;
• Understanding of all aspects of software testing process, bug tracking and reporting;
• Experience testing software on range of software and hardware platforms such as iOS, Android, 
Windows, MacOSX and Unix/Linux;
• Experience using test automation frameworks;
• Experience using test management systems (TMS);
• Ability to learn independently;
• Ability to complete assignments independently and on time, identify and mitigate risks;
• Ability to apply knowledge and understanding of stakeholder needs to report on progress in test 
• High level written and verbal communication in both general and technology-specific applications;
• Professional experience in programming in C/C++, Objective C or Java or scripting in Python, Perl, 
Javascript or Bash;
• Proven experience working with code versioning tools such as CVS, Subversion, Perforce or similar;
• Familiar with code testing tools e.g. debuggers, valgrind, cppunit, coverity, gcov, etc.;
• Familiar with one or more software development environments such as: XCode, Visual Studio, 
Eclipse or similar
