Your role at Dolby is leading the quality assurance practises, tests development and execution for mobile apps that enable an amazing variety of experiences in Music/ Video capture and playback.

 

This exciting role will have significant growth opportunity, pushing you to break with conventional thinking on technologies and qualifying approaches on mobile audio-video capture, editing and playback.

 

As a Staff engineer QA Lead, you will lead and collaborate with talented engineers as part of a high-impact team defining and maintaining quality assurance practises for new proof of concept apps in audio-video space. You will also own and maintain tests development and execution for Dolby On app for releases on iOS and Android Appstore. You will lead and co-ordinate work with a cross geo engineering and QA team members with a responsibility of managing test processes, test automation, execution and act as a third line of support for our customer support team.

 

 

The Role: 

 

  • Conduct early project scoping in collaboration with project and development teams.
  • Understand mobile apps UI/UX, review and propose technologies for automation, develop test strategies and contribute proposals for testability.
  • Lead and review test plans including test design, test coverage, test approach, risk assessment and reporting metrics with internal and vendor teams
  • Lead test execution with external vendors and report on quality metrics for app releases
  • Report issues through a formal bug tracking system and work with the engineering team to help isolate, debug and resolve issues/bugs
  • Participate in bug review meetings and analyze bug status data and metrics.
  •    Act as a third line of support for Apps customer support team (reported issues triage)
  • Collaborate with audio/video engineers and QA engineers in the company on projects to understand requirements and product behaviour.
  • Serve as a mobile apps QA lead, mentor and guide for junior members in project team

 

 

You:   

  • Minimum BSc degree in science or engineering.
  • 5+ years’ experience working as quality assurance engineer for mobile app projects
  • Professional experience in developing automation tests for iOS and/or Android apps
  • Professional experience using git, firebase, fastlane, bug/crash tools in CI/CD environment
  • Demonstrable experience in test strategy development, test planning, test case design and implementation
  • Demonstrable experience working with cross geo teams and stakeholders
  • Ability to lead bug triages and assign severity considering product requirements
  • Ability to apply knowledge and understanding of stakeholder needs to report on progress in test activities.
  • High level written and verbal communication in both general and technology-specific applications. 

 

HIGHLY DESIRED

 

Technical understanding of and experience with any of the following

  • Audio/Video capture and playback apps on iOS and Android
  • App store ecosystem for iOS and Android
  • Background in music
